Getting my XF-i xtrememusic tomorrow???

I'm getting my XF-I xtrememusic sound card tomorrow and was wondering (hoping really) is the MAJOR problem that everyone was having with these cards when they first came out still happening? I remember reading some people couldnt even boot windows with just inserting the card, none the less installing the drivers. A heads up here would be great, and I hope it sounds better then my OLD audigy card.
 
I believe it was with ASUS motherboards and a simple bios flash fixed it, though I am not positive. I can't exactly remember, but you shouldn't have a problem. It really is a nice gaming card.

Just put mine in a month ago, no problems at all. The setup wouldn't autoplay correctly, but I just browsed the CD. Have fun with it!

Yeah I have one in my computer now as well as one in my brothers. Never had a problem!
 
Thanks everyone, but I forgot to say this was ONLY an issue for Nforce4 users....

Yikes! I'm stepping up to the AMD plate soon too... so please report back on your findings and setup! I don't want to have to ditch my beloved x-fi :(
 
Also note that if you do have a problem with the card w/ a nforce4 mobo, CL will replace the card with a new one with updated firmware. Just call them up for the RMA.

You can also use the BIOS update for a workaround.
 
Well technically a MB Bios update is the actual fix and the send in to CL for modified firmware is the "workaround", hehe.
 
OK, got the card this morning, installed it, and installed the driver update from creatives website, and so far so good :) . The card sounds great, and the best part of this whole thing is, the card only cost me 48 dollars!
 
Just a reminder, to play any of the new X-FI EAX capable games like D3 or Q4 you must switch to Game mode to be able to enable it in game
