I have a gig of TCCD ram I want to move to 2 gigs of TCCD ram in the 1 gig sticks. What makes and models are out there now?

Are you asking if there were 1gb TCCD sticks made? 1gb TCCD were never made, 512mb was the max for single sticks. If not then check the FS forums and get another 1gb (2X512mb) of TCCD. Or you could try the UCCC or Infineon CE6 etc for 2gb.

ok now ucccc can I get 2.5 3 3 8 on 250FSB at default levels and can I get some examples of this ram or the ce6?

umm... ocz gold, mshkin XP, some of the g.skill stuff, forget which.

don't forget about micron 5b D though.. arguably the best 64mb ICs out there :D

well... we're going about this the wrong way. what's your rig, and what do you plan to do with it?

AMD 64 3700+ ATM I have it at 246 FSB giving me a 2.7 OC. I am wanting to move up on my ram so I can play BF2 and EQ2 a bit better. I have a X800XT PE. for a videocard. but I really want to jump up on my ram from 1gig to 2. The Geil TCCD ram I have isnt made any longer and teh last time I tried to add some CA TCCD ram it would even boot with all four sticks plugged in. It would with one or the other. ATM I have my ram at 2.5 3 3 8 an dwould like to stay there for the timings.

is that s754 or s939? my guess is s939. what mobo are you running?? that should help us get to the source of what ram you should get.

Is TCCD really worth the hype? or is it just better to get some current ram that might be higher clocked such as ddr500?

alright, when you move to the DFI Ultra-d, you should be able to run 4x512mb of TCCD. or if you want you can get some Ballistix, they often do around ddr600 3-3-3, and they are 2gig sticks. they are good stuffs.

imo, no. i like micron 5b G far more, but that's just me :p

i'm working on a review of a new set of pc3200 ballistix, here's a little taste :)
all at 2.8v:
2-2-2-6 = 224mhz
2.5-2-2-6 = 258mhz
2.5-2-3-6 = 266mhz
2.5-3-3-6 = 277mhz
3-3-3-6 = 301mhz

and they scale with voltage.. i can get 290mhz stable at 2.5-3-3 if i desired :D

Don't count on the DFI allowing 4x512 to work. Mine won't, even though any combination of 2/4 sticks works beautifully. I had one pair at 329htt, 2.9v, and all 4 will run at 313htt, but in no way can I get all four to work at once. If I could figure out how, my Opty would REALLY love me. :(

As long at I hit 250 at 2.5 3 3 8 or so ill be happy. can someone link me to the Ballistix that is in question here.

Oh shh...:p

I love my TCCD sticks, but it's really personal preference. Oh and btw, I believe the 5b-G chips are gone, and Crucial is using 5b-D, which doesn't overclock nearly as well. TCCD is still in circulation :)

Eclipse - Correct me if I'm wrong about the above statement ;)

a while ago, you would been sorta right, but crucial is binning em to ballistix speeds again.. go figure :p
the ballistix i show the results for were bought about 2 weeks ago.

however, i'll have my g.skill LE to compare with soon enough :D

When... what... where... let us know when the review drops!

EDIT: I see you are using tRAS @ 6 a lot nowadays. Would you recommend it over a 5 or 10?

not too long now ;)

also.. i use the tras that gets me the best clocks, that happens to be 6 for these sticks in this rig. ymmv :D
