Which DDR1 should I use with Opteron 146 (CABNE 0530) and DFI "Expert"?

With DFI, I recommend OCZ. These 2 companies are real close and you'll find lots of OCZ tech on the DFI forums at DFI Street

After that it depends if you want to run 1GB or 2GB of ram. ;)

Thanks, I just realized that the "Ballistix" is PC 4000 and NOT 3200, also the Timing is 3-4-4-8.

Question:
What timing do I need with my setup then? (DFI Expert + Opt146 CABNE 0530)

Thanks!

it's simply a speed rating. the pc3200 is sure to do at least 200mhz, while the pc4000 can do at least 250mhz.. though normally you can get a bit above both :p

If it's any use to you, I have 2 x 512MB Ballistix PC3200 running at 256 x 9 = DDR 512. The max OC I got was 287Mhz = DDR 574 @ 3-3-3-5, 1T.

With the 256 x 9 overclock, my timings are 2.5-2-3-5, 1T, 2.8V, DIMM slots 1 & 3. tRC and tRFC are at 8 and 12 respectively. In fact, I'll just post my A64 Tweaker shot anyway:

To ninjastlye:

I like your windows them (black colored). Where did you get it from? Is it for WinXP?

It's a black theme based on Luna, and not shiny and cheap looking like those WindowBlinds themes you see. Grab it from my FTP if you want it:

http://www.ninjastyle.plus.com/downloads/BlackXP.Theme.zip

This is a Visual Style, I.E, no extra resources used and no software to run. What you will need is a patched uxtheme.dll file. You can patch it using Neowin.net's Multi-Patcher, then apply the theme. The .dll is restricted in Windows XP2 so it only uses "official" themes, but patching it allows you to use any theme / visual style. Get the patcher here:

http://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=140707

Read the instructions when installing the theme (I made this into an installable theme for ease of use) if needed. Basically though, patch the uxtheme.dll, then make sure to have the Luna (blue) theme applied before applying the black theme.
