alright .....Simple Question..

Is The Reason I'm Experiencing Laggy/Choppy Gameplay is Because I Dont Got Enough Ram?

i have a decent video card (6800gt oc 423/1100)...decent rig (intel)....but only 512 MB Ram.....

and i can run settings on HIGH on all my games ...BUT it lags and is hella choppy..with FEAR and BF2...is it bkuz you dont have enough RAM?.....because I can run settings at HIGH and everything but when you go into the game its all choppy like shit. i can put the settings in FEAR and BF2 on high and all that.but when your PLAYING the game it LAGS like shit...its because i only have 512 MBRam right?? i kno this is a stupid post..but i need YOU! yes YOU!..the person who is reading this post..to CONFIRM IT.

someone reply with similiar experience..and notice GREAT gameplay after they have 2gb in there rig...

i don't have personal experience in the matter, but i know both BF2 and FEAR really need >1gb of ram for higher quality game play

Your lack of ram is definitley part of your problem, 1Gb would be fine for the games you listed, 2Gb would be ideal for BF2 for sure and I suspect for FEAR as well.....however since you didn't list all your components, it is possible that you are also cpu limited, you may be using onboard sound (eats up cpu usage) etc. List your components like you see in my signature so we can have a better understanding as to what you're working with....memory alone may or may not solve your problem......your 6800gt is fine, and should offer excellent fps, have you updated the drivers for the vidcard, that may also help.

i have a 2.6 GHz Intel pentium...i got the latest nvidia drivers...120 gig hard drive..i have a original sound card..but i use Creative speakers with a subwoofer...i love it.. hehehe...antec neopower 480 watt psu.....

When you say "lags" does that mean your hard drive is thrashin' away during certain parts of each game? If that's happening, you're running out of RAM and it's paging yer swap file. Answer - more RAM.

Looks like your a bit cpu limited....I had a 2.6C before I upgraded to the current 3.4....loved the 2.6, it ran cool and OC'd very well. Even still you should with your gpu and 2.6 and 1Gb of memory should do fine with BF2/FEAR. If your memory/mobo is up to the task and you have adequate cooling....willing to take the risk (you ould damage your sysem) you could OC the 2.6 to around 3.0 to 3.2 and see if that helps
