Gamestop local preorders not delivering !!

That's the first thing you do. Then you do the rest of the things he's doing. Take the complaint to the highest ranking guy you can, and then tell everyone about what happened. Shove it right up Gamestops pooper.
And what exactly will that prove once he's done shoving? Nothing will come of this. You gotta pick your battles wisely......

"Nothing" will come from most human endeavors. It all just depends on your scale of nothing. If he bitches to the right people, they might just do the right thing. And if they don't, well then, hopefully he bitched to enough regular people that maybe they think twice about shopping at Gamestop. Or at the very least don't buy into their pre-order bullshit anymore.

Ok, there are still a few folks that are lagging behind the concept that preorders where NOT sold out in may/june

How do we know this? Because every online order was shipped for 11/22

The earliest email I have from gamestop on my pc for online orders is 8/25

So how do you take online preorders on 8/25, when your preorders were sold out in may/jun a full 2 months before online orders started.

(may/june) 0 units available + (aug-nov)100,000 online orders = 0 units available for online orders

What part of this concept do you not understand?

Do I have to ask forum users to make a line against the wall and label one side 'start' and one side 'end' and then start handing out lollipops start at the 'end' side first? Your not in kindergarden anymore, the concept of shipping orders via order date should be comprehendable.

and further more

gamespot has the ability to do this to us because of customers that sit on their arse and SAY NOTHING....

step up to the plate, become part of the solution and not part of the problem, demand your place in line via email and phone calls if they give you the #'s

by god your americans, we didn't create this country sitting on our arse, stand up for yourselves !!

Your "problem" began when you confused with online pre-order with in store pre-order. Dude, you didn't get your online pre-order and began to bitch about it at your local GameStop store. Then, you blamed your local GameStop store for your delayed online pre-order delivery. If I were the manager at your local GameStop, I would simply tell you to deal with your problem with GameStop.com. Of course, I am sure the first 30 customers on the first shippment are very happy about the whole experience. :)

Dude, you are confused and got no case. You are actually coming off like a psychopath with a bad case of issues. First, you are the problem. Second, you are talking to the wrong people.

RTFOP!!!!!!! He didn't order online! He ordered from the local GameStop! I'm sure you'll change your arguement now to suit that.

Actually, I have an in store preorder from 8/26, that didn't get delivered in store on 11/22, and instead of taking it out on the poor store manager who is simply a person that greets the UPS man for his shipment I went straight to the source which is the corporate gamestop.com website which lists all information for contacting them.

This bullshit about there being some kind of seperation of in store and online orders is just that, bullshit. I ordered my xbox360 from gamestop, not gamestop2... or gamestop3.. but gamestop, the one soverign entity of gamestop.

Here's my take: They reserve a number for store shipment, then reserve a number for their online part separately. So, they sell their preorders accordingly, that is, completely cut off from each other. Brick and Mortar is completely different from online. That's just how it operates.

Good luck with it, though. Personally, I'd have been relieved to receive a second batch X360 after what I've been hearing about them...

Just reading the original message I can say that he does not visit his local GameStop THAT much. Otherwise, he would have known (don't the staff insist you to reserve something??? :D) that GameStop has been taking pre-order for the 360 as early in May. After May 25th, it was all second shipment.

Again, your problem derived from your own confusion. Of course, if you do ask questions and hang around at your local GameStop more often, you would have realized the pre-order began as early in May. From the way I see it, you have no problem. You just have to wait for your turn to pickup your 360. Mind you, you can always get a refund for your deposite.

Lack of a company wide network linking their retail stores with the corporate database is none of my concern, nor my problem.

I'm a customer, my job is to get my order in and come up with the funds to pay for it.

I did my part, time for them to do theirs

Wow so in store preorders started in may?

well, may I ask why the customers that preordered in may dont have an xbox right now?

you know why? cause online orders placed in october robbed them of their preordered xbox's

They diverted systems from the stores to honor combo deals online. Online orders were placed a few months after store pre orders.

They decided to divert the systems instead of honoring pre orders in a first come first serve fashion.

This is the complaint from what I read. It is also my complaint.

I wouldn't be so angry knowing that those who pre ordered before me got systems. They simply beat me to it. I'm angry because those who ordered AFTER me did get theirs. They only got their systems because they have more money to spend on the misc items, not because they took an initiative to pre order early..

I'm glad to see someone understands the problem here

I think the only ones that do understand, are the shafted customers

the online order guys are like ... huh?... er... what? ... (duh) i got mine

lol

well, just one from gamestop would be nice

takes a real man to admit to being wrong, and to apologize for it

That sucks, maybe you'll get a nice mass mailed apology.

Ya those really are heart felt apologies. I remember when I got mine from Blizzard, the most touching part was how they spelled my name incorrectly, I think it actually brought a tear to my eye.

jfolds : You still dont get it, the online and in store orders are SEPARATE. Yes we all get that you think it should be the way you want it, and that everything is connected. The bottom line it isn't, this is Gamestop and it is their business they run it the way they want. They are not BurgerKing...you do not get to have the company run things "Your Way".

If you dont like the way Gamestop operates the disconnect between the online and local divisions of their company then dont shop there anymore. However your "holy crusade" you seem to be trying to start with all the gamers "rising up" to give the shaft to Gamestop is frankly hilarious.

Erasmus354, I think his problem was that he preordered something months in advanced and the best gamestop can do is send his product to him when its already widely available. I dont care what their excuses are, that is unacceptable and a complete failure on their part, I think he has earned the right to be pissed off about it.

No, man. He pre-ordered it in his local GameStop in August after realizing GameStop.com was accepting pre-order. Unfortunately, like a psychopath he is coming off right now, he failed to realize that his local GameStop HAS BEEN taking pre-order in May, not August. Those are "what you called pre-ordered months in advance." Yes, those people got their systems. He is pissed because he realized he wasn't early. In fact, he was late. Why he didn't pre-order it online at first? Two, why he is linking GameStop.com and his local GameStop together? Three, why he felt that he pre-ordered early at his local GameStop when in fact there were maybe 80 people ahead of him on the reserve list? Remember, xbox360 pre-order began in the early May and ended around May 25th. This guy has issues.

Didn't you pre-order two XBOX360's with the intention of selling one online for a profit ? This would suggest to me, that you are part of the problem as to the reason many people did not recieve an XBOX360, as inconsiderate people like you ordered them so they could ebay them.

No, I sat out in the freezing cold and rain for 12 hours to get my xbox360, and I gave money to a friend who camped out with me to buy one. Did I sell it on ebay for a profit? Yes I did. Did I do anything wrong? Apparently someone valued their extra 600$ less than 12 hours in the 34 degree cold while it was windy and rainy. I started the auction at 15$ with a reserve of 400$. If somebody had won it at 400$ I would have actually been selling it for a loss...just so happens the free market economy let me sell it for a large profit (paying for my other 360 and games :D )

I didn't go preordering tons of them from everywhere I could, I actually made an effort to get my 360.

Maybe you should try to RTFOP again, because it seems you're still lacking some comprehension here. He said that his local GameStop was only open for a few months before he put his pre-order in in August. I suppose by "a few months" he could've meant 18, but I'm guessing 2 or 3. That would mean that his local GameStop HAD NOT BEEN taking pre-orders since May.

update on the pre-order situation

last nite on 12/7 gamestop.com opened up orders for xbox 360's shipping on 12/12

nice eh? how do all the shortage shouters feel about about that?

well, i for one sent in my demand for one of these units to fullfill my preorder via email, then went the extra mile and called the district manager to let him know of these new orders and that my pre-order came first. Of course, had to leave the msg on his mail system but i'm sure he's really busy trying to avoid lawsuits at this point.

Anyway, as of this morning just a few hours after the site started taking the new orders the page was yanked so fast it was simply deleted and you get a page not found error LOL

:D

One small victory for us shafted customers, if any of you saw the page up for the new orders last nite before it was yanked i would suggest you write in and demand one of these units as well. Even though the page was yanked, 12/12 deliver is possible or they wouldnt have tried to take orders guaranteeing delivery.
