I cant seem to find a comparision on there site. what is the diff between these two?
can anyone help me?

PVP servers allow non-consenual PVP with people from the other realm. There are still noobie zones so you can level up a bit before being thrown into it. I prefer PVP servers personally because they're more interesting and keep you on your toes. On the regular servers you never have to worry about being attacked by the other realm.

On a pvp server you can be attacked by the opposite side at anytime in contested zones. This includes players alot higher level than you. I have tried both and pvp is much more fun. I was nervous about it when I was first starting out, but its nothing. Play a character on a pvp server, youll be glad you did. ;)

At the same time you don't have to worry about parties of very high characters going on a killing spree where they expect to find lower leveled players. (honor system is a joke)

not that big of a deal really, it's part of the game. plus battlegrounds keeps the 60s busy.

go pvp server. alot more fun.

If you like being constantly ganked while trying to do quests, go to a PVP server. If you want to be able to play the game without always having to look over your shoulder, go to a PVE server. It all depends on how you want to play.

I'm sure that the PVP servers are very fun for someone that likes that kind of gameplay, but I prefer to choose when I want to PVP.

There are a lot of people that always have their PVP turned on in PVE servers, and a lot of town raids go on. So you can still PVP on a PVE server if you choose to.

if you roll horde on a pvp server(like I did) be advised it is likely you will be outnumbered.

Oh and don't worry about the 60's ganking you, most of the time we're busy grinding honor in the battlegrounds.

This morning I was attacked nearly every 10 mins by(different) high level horde that would kill me with 1 sometimes two hits. No point in even trying to complete quests in the contested territories. No amount of skill is going to save me when I'm dead before I can even attack. There is no point in even trying.

Is there anyway to move my character to a PvE server without have'n to completely start over? I'd hate to have wasted all this time but I'm considering starting a new character on a PvE in hopes to complete one quest in those areas without being raped.

Blizz will probably never allow PvP to PvE relm transfers. Also, keep in mind that just as many (if not more) of your own faction do the same thing to us poor horde in PvP servers. Trying to level my hunter neer gadget i usually get ganked every 3-5 kills on a bad day. The nice thing about having a 60 though is I can just re-log and come corpse camp him for a while to let him know how it feels

I figured it was the same on both sides.

Really hope'd there was a way to transfer

I play strictly on a PvP server and I find it much more fun than a regular PvE server. Just because its PvP doesn't mean you'll die a lot - I've passed up killing quite a few people just on the idea that I didn't want to put forth the effort or inconvenience them or simply because they didn't attack me first, of course theres other times when I logon and attack the first Alliance bloke that appears on my screen - I've also been killed at the most inopportune times as well by other players but it depends on your attitude - if you take it personal then I recommend staying away from PvP but if you view it as all in good fun, you'll enjoy it.

I play Horde on Bloodscalp.

Bah! who the hell am I kidding - I attack every alliance bastard that crosses my eyes whenever possible. Mercy and honor are for the weak!

it all depends on who you run into, there are jerks on both sides on every server. Personally, I restrain myself if they're not within a few levels (unless they attack me first).
