Is it possible if say I had three monitors to run my center monitor off say an X800 and the side monitors of of an X700 ?

The motherboard being a DFI NF4 Ultra-D

not specifically those cards but just the idea in general

Not from that motherboard....

If you have two PCI slots or one AGP and one PCI then sure, but not from two PCIx

I don't understand why they even put the second PCI Express slot in there then

is there something special about that moboard that won't let you do that?

with my asus A8N its no problem..

i havent tried doing it, i was just wondering if it could

I have two 2005FPW's right now and am thinking about putting another in the middle

Yeah.. "Is there something specific about the DFI board that prevents it?"

I've got an X800GTO2 -> x850-xt-pe in one of my pci-e slots

and

an msi NX6600GT in the other.

I'm tempted to try and put my woot.com $75 BFG 6600 in pci-e slot #3

It's for SLI/Crossfire. You need to have two graphic cards that support SLI/Crossfire in order to use SLI/Crossfire.

If you're just looking for just more dispalsy and don't care about getting a speed increase in games and such, then yeah it'll work. Just realize that you'll get not speed benifite, only more monitors.

I was always under the impression you could only use one PCIx at a time, sorry.

The only problem with that is my board isn't an SLI board

It's for anything in the future that uses PCI-E 8 or PCI-E 4.
alright, i'll just post a picture i guess
It has two 16x slots, and the board doesnt officially support SLI

it should work, just not in crossfire or sli mode if they're different cards of course.

So if i plug another videocard into the second Pci E and plug a monitor into the second videocard, i will be able to see my desktop on the second monitor?

this is all im asking too, i dont want better performance, i just want 3 monitors

Yes my SLI board works like that witout the bridge connected. You will have to uninstall the drivers then install the cards and reinstall the drivers for it to work. Basicly you have 2 video card slots. It also has to have a SLI or crossfore chipset to work in either one of those modes.

just switch the jumpers over to SLI mode and instal the second card and reinstal the vid card drivers.

Its the exact same PCB and the SLI Lan Party, you can even mod the board to run SLI.

can you have 2 monitors hooked up and use sli tho?( mean use 3d exceleration on only 1 monitor, like how it would be with only one video card but have the power of sli on the monitor you use to game?)

just by adding a second pci-e you wont get "Sli" it specifically says that you can use 2 GFX cards inthe PCI-E slots on the box of the board =p so you can, its called Dual Graphic Express or w/e

I believe not. You get either 1 monitor with SLI, or multiple monitors with no SLI. Multiple monitors, with only one running SLI, is not an option.

Yet. Who knows--nVidia may add something to the drivers to allow this.
