Anyone sick of the egg?

Maybe I'm lucky or in a good area, but I've only had issues with FedEx, never UPS. I have ordered a great deal of parts from the Egg and ZZF and had no issues. The one time I had to RMA a videocard, ZZF came through no problems!

BTW, all my issues with Fed Ex is that they seem to sneak up to my house and leave a door tag, never actually knock. I have been home, with my rommates home as well and no one hears them. UPS always knocks on the door and I get my stuff the 1st time.

Well I placed an order with newegg before the switched their shipping(something I am not too happy about either). Anyways, I ordered a motherboard and a graphics card; both boxes had obviously been opened and they sent the wrong graphics card! When I called them they kept trying to lead me to thinking that it was fedex's fault, but the fedex packaging was pristine and on time. Well they ended up taking both of them back and I didn't have to pay the restocking fee. Since then I will never again place an order with newegg.

I do all my online shopping at Newegg now. Monarch is ok, the have some good parts and I don't have to pay taxes, but Newegg is so much faster at sending out stuff. I put my new system together a few months back, there was one part that I ordered from Newegg in the afternoon and I had a tracking number in my email before I left work. I've also had a good no-hassle RMA experience on a Shuttle and CPU in the past.

Haha, at least you all never had UPS leave a package in a fence occupied by German Shepherds. (Textbooks!) Sad thing is, they wouldn't replace it.

Yay Buy.Com sent my Video Card Via Fedex

I hope it makes it here before the end of the week. Eggs processing is still faster IMO

I ordered my router from Buy.com and it took them like 4 days to process it and ship it. I had to call them to find out what was going on and they couldn't give me a reason. Once it shipped though, FedEx got it to me very quickly.

<3 FedEx

My last 2 or 3 orders from newegg have been shipped with the cheapest UPS shipping option and have arrived at least 2 days early each. The most recent being a pack of dvd+r dl discs. 1-5 day shipping. ordered wednesday, recieved thursday.

the one before that was that samsung laser that they have the 50 dollar rebate on. no packaging needed. ordered monday night, I think and got there wednesday. maybe it was tuesday thursday, but still the same. Of course I've stated all this in the other newegg fedex ups threads.

It reminds me of that quote clooney had from Oh brother where art thou.
"Well, ain't this place a geographical oddity. Two weeks from everywhere!"

Ok this is my beef with Newegg and UPS.

Item ordered Wed with rush processing, it did not ship that day, and did not ship thursday either. It shipped Friday at about 5am via UPS 3 day. Now here's where my UPS gripes come in... UPS did not count Friday as a shipping day...even though they got it at 5 friggin AM. Neither do they count weekends, and the delivery day apparently isn't counted either. So by their 3 day shipping it was supposed to arrive on thursday . Mon, Tues, Wed being the 3 day shipping.

I cant stand ordering something on WED with RUSH PROCESSING and not getting the item until 8 days later?!? Any way you cut it that is bad customer service. Newegg was nice though, they refunded the rush processing (twice over) and the shipping costs...even though according to UPS they delivered on time  .

i just got a cheap lcd monitor from egg like 3 weeks ago, came in good condition via fed ex. no holes or gashes. When did they change to UPS? i cant complain about RMA, ive had to rma ram twice, once from newegg for cosairs, once monarch for OCZ. Difference is that newegg took a week to get back to me. With the OCZ i bypassed monarch and just drove down there and had a new pair an 30 min.

Uh, guys you can still order using FEDEX from newegg. Just gotta change it in the shipping method dropdown.

Overall, I've been very pleased with Newegg. All of my orders arrive 1-2 days early (I only choose FedEx shipping). Everything has arrived in immaculate condition, I've only had one thing I had to RMA. It was a Chaintech 6600GT that worked great the first 2 months and finally decided to fry. Other than that, nothing but pleasant experiences with the Egg.

i love newegg! i agree they still offer FEDEX, you just have to choose it, its usually the same price or cheaper, though i order an HDD today from there and there was a big change in shipping price, UPS wanted $9 (for 3 day, but then i found out they cant ship 3 day so it would be ground) i said NO to groud, and went with FEDEX express shipping $16. But the drive is still cheaper after shipping than i could get it in any store.

I have never ever had any problems with RMAing things to newegg, they are usually really nice, and hardly ever charge me a restocking fee if i tell them what is going on.

No problems here with about $10,000 in purchases. Newegg has always been my first choice and always will be. Fedex only!

...the thing with my 6600gt is that the box itself was opened, like, not sealed. eVGA was pretty surprised about that. I'm waiting for them to approve an RMA because I hate dealing with newegg's rma's, it's been a few days now. Seems like everytime I try to upgrade I end up deciding I'm going to get out of computers, but then I come right back full circle..

NewEgg doesn't offer much to me now that I can't get elsewhere. Their legendary low-prices aren't so extraordinary anymore, and they just annhilated their legendary cheap, fast shipping. Between ZZF, eWiz, Chief Value (OldEgg), Monarch and Mwave there is almost always somewhere else evenly priced, or at least within a few dollars. Yeah, they still offer FedEx shipping, but it's nowhere NEAR the old prices. $15 to ship a hard drive? You gotta be shitting me. Hell, I can personally ship it Priority for $7, and I don't have a contract with anyone.

I hope NewEgg made more money from the UPS deal than they're losing in lost sales.

I have the same problem with Fed Ex as well. Although, I usually dont get a door tag until it is the last delivery attempt. There have been several times I have been home on the computer checking on my delivery, only to see that my package was supposedly attempted to be delivered five minutes ago with no response. Funny since I was sitting in the living room with the picture window looking directly at the front of the house and I did not see or hear a truck.

UPS has been decent. Rarely do I miss a delivery from them, and have yet to have a package damaged.

I wonder if it just depends on where you live.

Ive only had one bad exspierence with newegg I think this is pretty funny. Goes like this.......
Ordered case (chepo for someone) I watch the tracker all good next day I check the tracker Fedex truck was driving up in canada (i live in pa) and it says on the bottom package destoryed in trasit(click for more details) *click* A TRAIN had hit the fedex truck. I dont know about you guys but I found it comical. But newegg did replace the case blah blah.....

I've never had any problems purchasing through Newegg. Everything I have purchased has been for a fair price, and has always arrived in a timely fashion and been in good condition. Reguardless of the shipping method I chose. Also, I have never had to RMA any product I have purchased from Newegg.

Now thats funny

I don't think I'll order from newegg again, even for cheap items. I ordered 3 different components for my new audio system yesterday afternoon, one from amazon, one from Axiom audio industries and one from newegg. Amazon shipped the same night (around 1 am pst if you can believe it...) Axiom shipped today at 2pm est and my newegg order has just now entered the phase where it's in preparation to be boxed thanks to newegg and ups chances are I won't be able to set this up until some time next week. I probably should have ate the $8 for shipping and had the thing sent from amazon....

I will also take this time to vent my frustration with UPS, newegg has always been GREAT to me but I can not believe this junk service I am getting with UPS. Since the swtich I have sent two packages via UPS both arrived late and two in bad condition, enclosed is a picture of the box my video card was in. The other box with ram it it was in worse shape, but I can't find that box.

This just upsets me because I have had no problem ever with FedEx always on time (always early) and packages sent in great condition. I use to work for UPS so I really wanted this to work but not anymore.

Why are you guys still bitching about UPS? You can still get FedEx shipping from Newegg ya know...

/baffle

I've purchased from Buy.com a few times and each time I swear I will never do it again. Problem isn't price or delivery condition. The problem is the huuuuge amount of time it takes them to ship. DO NOT expect product to be shipped in any timeframe approaching Newegg's worst efforts.

It's now a lot more expensive than it used to be.

about 2years ago I spent about $1500 on newegg.com on making a custom built pc. No issues at all.

Even recently I used it to buy a lil 512MB SD card, no problem with that either...and I plan on buying a DVD DL Burner soon :D

I've been ordering from New Egg for years now. Never had a problem, never had to RMA anything. Always got my stuff at a good price, and nearly always earlier than expected. I will not use UPS shipping, but I just checked and FedEx Saver shipping still comes up as an option on checkout. That's good because if I had to use UPS or the more expensive FedEx options I'd look elsewhere.

Yay the (very nice) fedex lady dropped off my new video card today

Fedex shipped fast.

Buy.com had the best video card deal i have gotten in a long time. Newegg just didnt compare to 262 bucks for a X800XT AIW

I think the Egg is still the best. I don't agree with the Restocking 'IF' what you ship back is as exactly as you got it. I think then they should waive the fee. I've had to RMA a few things, but they've always taken care of it and waived a few restocking fees due to defective parts. The FedEx vs. UPS thing I'm sure is a money saving issue for them. I suspect that UPS came and offered a better deal than FedEx, hence now we have to use UPS for cheaper shipping. I myself like FedEx much better. I'll choose them when it's not TOO expensive.

I'm having my doubts. I ordered a ton of stuff this morning including a new ps/mb/x1800xl, paid for expedited order processing and on top of that paid for fedex overnight shipping cause I need to play Quake4/F.E.A.R. this weekend !!!

I got the usual order confirmation email and it said 24-48 hours processing. I called them back and wanted to make sure I'll get the stuff tommorow considering what I'm spending on shipping and their "fees". Not to mention I'm paying $42 for an xp-90 and 14$ for a 90mm panaflo fan ! But I knew SVC wouldn't get here by tommorw so I had to overpay. Newegg's customer service pissed me off and said if I wanted to make sure it gets here by tommorow - I should have ordered yesterday !!! Well wtf, why do you have overnight shipping to the tune of 70 dollars if my order might not get here till Monday !!!

Of course if it comes tommorow all we be forgiven.

I ordered a tablet from them on tues with ups 3 day shipping. I'll let you guys know how it works out. I'm sorta worried about the condition it will arrive in because of all the ups horror stories I've heard

I don't shop much at Newegg anymore. The prices aren't very competitive anymore, and their packaging has gone mediocre (their hard drive packaging is well critiqued in the storage section). I've never experienced a buying a new item that comes opened, or had a DOA item, but it's probably due to the fact I hardly buy there anymore. ZZF has replaced them for me

I still egg out...

anyone here ever worked for ups or fedex, and has had to load a truck / drive it...

k

I still look around NewEgg as well. My last order was a 1GB SD Card that I only paid $56 with shipping for. Locally you can't touch one for anything less than $90 then add in 6% sales tax.

Methinks the NewEgg horror stories with Customer Service are probably 50% the person calling and 50% NewEgg blame wise. If you call and are a dick, they're not going to do anything beyond their printed rules to help you. It's the same for any company.

As for the shipping rants, why are you beating up NewEgg because you didn't pick (insert courier of choice) when you placed the order? NewEgg doesn't controll the shipping company, they pay them to deliver the package and if you sign for it in the damaged condition, then you're accepting it in that state and your beef is with UPS or FexEX. You don't go bitching out Fox because the cable company doesn't carry their channel do you? If you do, remove yourself from the gene pool NOW before Darwin finds you with his chainsaw of natural selection.

I've used Newegg with only FedEx for over $15,000 in purchases over last 6 years. If anything, their service has gotten better and they compensate you in whole if anything runs amuck between them and you. If you recieve a package with a hole in it, take detailed photographs and you'll have your evidence. TigerDirect, ZZF(when it was googlegear) are a pain in the ass to RMA with. Monarch is pretty good, although their selection of products isn't as varied.

i am NewEgg for Life!!

Reason: I have a Preferred Account with them. No Payments on Purchases over $500 for 6 months and free rush processing. Also, they process purchases of preferred accounts before they process purchases with a regular account. So ha!! :D

Just because you don't want to get it locally doesn't mean you have to get it at NewEgg. There are other online stores that could've given you a comparable deal.

NewEgg DOES control the shipping company. They reached an agreement with UPS to be their default shipper. I don't know the details of how such a thing works, but the end result is that it's cheaper to ship with who they have a deal with. The old deal with FedEx and the specially priced FedEx super saver shipping provided better service than UPS currently is. THAT is what people are bitching about. Yes, you can still select FedEx as your shipper, but it's at a far higher price than it used to be. So, yeah, NewEgg isn' the one delivering the packages, but they are the ones endorsing the company that is (UPS). And, evidently, a lot of people are dissatisfied with that.

Hey everyone, How about we all Send an Email to Newegg saying:

WE WANT FED-EX BACK AS THE DEFAULT SHIPPING SERVICE, NOT UPShit!!!!!

I think Newegg has gotten a lot of new management in the recent years.

They have rebates out the ass and are now having these "X hour sales". Seems like they got a new marketing director or something.

The site has just gotten real bad. The turn to UPS, the higher shipping costs, the new web design. When it comes to retail, the simpler the better. Newegg doesn't understand that.

The new management/direction the company is taking is going too far.
