Free Ubuntu CD's

Order as many Ubuntu CD's as you want,they ship free. I never tried it, but ill give it a shot. Nice to have the CD even if I dont :D
 
I've heard that this is a great(!) form of Linux, I just hope that it works like it should I've really wanted to play with Linux for a long time.

Mandrake was bad, so so bad.
 
is this Ubuntu Live? if so... already got it. very cool indeed ;) but i could go ahead and order some i guess... dont wanna miss out on free stuff!


edit: dang... just ordered some, but i dont think its the live one...

From their FAQ:

What Is On The CD?

All CDs contain 5.04 codenamed "Hoary Hedgehog" CD. For every CD you order, we will send you one package that contains both an Install CD and a LiveCD in a single cardboard folder. There is no need to specify one or the other: You will get both. This is true for all architectures.
 
In, and please don't order some stupid amount because it's FREE. Order what you need for yourself and friends and be done. Ordering 50,000 copies will ruin it for the rest of us.
 
The free cd's come in different flavors:
Intel x86
AMD64
PowerPC

They also come with a live cd and an install cd.

mine arrived sometime ago, I got 6 for Amd64, 3 for the Intel x86 platform and 3 for PowerPC or Mac. No one called me asking why so many, they just send me the free cd's no questions asked.
 
lol wat a coincidence, ordered like a month ago, just arrived today. They come with the install +a live cd in a nice little case
 
Got mine. I have 4 AMD64, 7 PowerPC & 10 Intel x86. I don't even remember requesting that many lol
 
^Actually, I think that's exactly what I have too, only switched... 4 powerpc and 7 amd64... Weird
 
I got mine the other day....I forgot I requested like 50 copies. I couldn't get the damn package out of the mailbox!!

I really hope you intend on passing out 49 of those 50 copies.
 
I've had RH6.0, Mandrake 10.0, and FC4, so I'm ordering a couple of the Ubuntu, just to have it too.

1 PCx64
1 Mac

:rolleyes: should be interesting to see how many computers I can put it on... :D
 
I just got mine 55 disks
25 x86
20 PPC
10 X86-64Bit

came in big box from europe

most of the software is going to be used on PCs in a non profit private school I donate time for. (machines that dont have COAs and need just internet)
 
I got my cds several months ago. Very easy to install and use. If you can install Windows, then you should have no problems with this.

 
got 2 32 bit and 2 64 bit sets yesterday, went and ordered 5 mac sets yesterday for school purposes....that live CD is just too damn useful :D
