mutiple monitor question

eventually i intend to collect a few 2405's but for now im stuck with a decent 17 inch viewsonic and some old retarded crt, but i was wondering if you needed a certain app or setting to run games and other apps like netscape and aim without having to alt tab out of the game to access the other window. I know in some games i can run them in window mode instead of full screen, so that kinda solves it half way, but alot of games these days dont have that window option, any help?

if you are in game, the only way to chat or browse is alt-tab

unless the game you are playing can be played in a window

well seems I figured it was that way, i was really hoping to be able to keep an eye on aim and internet windows while gaming, but it seems i would have to hook up a separate rig to get that kind of setup. Its not a problem since i have 2 extra lying around, one of which is my fileserver so i guess i can bum some of the bandwith from that sucker (its constantly running bit torrents). Eventually I want to get a 3 monitor LCD setup, probably a 2405 at the center with my gaming rig (popular choice, but love the size) and probably get another 17 viewsonic and hook both of them to another computer for internet and work (photoshop, c++ compilers, etc etc). Then I just hook both computers to the same keyboard/mouse via my KVM switch i have lying around, that will get about the same product i wanted, just with the expense of having to find a way to fit my server around my desk and the wiring. The desk is not so messy, just full of cd's and the one other compartment gets no ventilation (left my gaming rig in there for 30 mins and temps were up 20c . So yea, ill figure it out eventually, probably once i move out and have my own place so i can get the room to fit all the junk into one area. yea im only 19, so im still living at home, but im working on it!!
