Hey everybody,

I've been using Thunderbird for quite some time now. Love every feature of it. However, lately it's been running rediculously slow, often taking up to 20-30 seconds just to switch between e-mails, and even longer to delete or send to the junk bin.

The only think I could think of was maybe my Avast! doing something to the e-mails, but I wanted a second opinion on that. I don't know if there's a difference between "Normal" and "High" scanning settings.

Specs:

Intel Pentium 4 2.6C Northy
MSI 865PE-Neo 2 FISR Mainboard (Latest drivers)
1 GB Kingston ValuRAM PC2100 DDR
Seagate 160GB ATA100 HDD
Windows XP Pro SP2 (Fully patched, using LiteStep -latest core build- as an overlay)
Mozilla Thunderbird 1.0.7
Avast! Anti-Virus 4.6 Home Edition (Internet Mail scanning set to High, Heuristics set to "High")
