Something has to be wrong here.....im at 57 degrees C doing a prime95 torture test using a koolance system.....
pc3-725 case with koolance v10 waterblock, sli deluxe mobo....any suggestions??? My coworker(has a watercooled machine) set up my piping, he has it goin from outa the radiator to my BFG 7800 GT SLI setup, THEN to my CPU....how much is this hurting my cooling performance? any help would greatly be apprecieated! my waterblock has a little play in it, what do u guys think i should do?

Well, you need to post speeds (stock, overclocked) and voltage (stock, overclocked) and your CPU model for starters.

And I'm no expert at water, but I'm pretty sure the water should hit your CPU block before hitting your 7800GT's, as they are MUCH hotter. Also, you may not have enough heat disappation in your radiator for 2 7800GT's and a CPU.

Just some suggestions.

myth... doesn't matter where it's piped to as long as the pipes are short and uncomplicated...

is the cpu block seated properly/firmly?

im sory my setup consists of an X2 4400+ & 2 7800gts stock core and memory, the voltage on the CPU is 1.38, the thing htat is odd about the CPU waterblock is that it has a little play in it...not much but a little, the screws that bolt it down just spin, they never tighten.....

I would say that if there is any play at all, its not installed properly, if screws don't tighten, maybe only the paste is holding it on, I would be very careful, it might just fall off.

shoot sounds like your equipment although great tends to be very warm anyway. Hope u fix it.

How do you have it attached to your motherboard??? I noticed that when installing my DD TDX block, that I had to remove my top plastic piece (The piece that holds the stock heatsink in place). Many people leave that in for spacing, but with mine, it was pushing the block for far off the CPU, so I took it out, but left the back piece in. The bolts should be the same size, so you should be able to thread it into the black holddown and then on the other side of the motherboard, use the nuts that came with your kit. But if your bolts aren't the same size as the stock threading, you could just simply use another nut and washer on the back side of the motherboard to tighten it down..... This method wouldn't be quite as sturdy, but if the bolts don't even work with the stock bracket, then what else could ya do?

A lot of the mounting screws that come with A64 mounting kits are a little to short to grab the threads of the plastic backing plate, thus requiring a lot of pressure to get them to enguage before you can tighten them down properly. You can get screws that are a little longer (about a 1/8 inch) should do it, either that of use threaded rods like Danger Den supplies with their blocks. The screws have a 6-32 thread and you can get them just about anywhere.............. :D

wow.....alright i found the problem, the idiot guy who set up my watercooling didnt even use my backplate!!!! he just used a screw and a bolt, my 550 dollar cpu was held on by a little tension and thermal paste!!!! i put my backplate back on and now im runnin 34 degrees C full load on torture test :) thanks for all your help guys

Okay. Go grab your friend, then slit his throat for being an idiot... How could he have managed to miss such a crucial step?

ya know, ill let you know how that goes.... ;)

I'm having a terrible time finding information on this case \ cooling combination. It seems to be quite rare (probably because its expensive) and so not reviewed that often. Would you mind sharing your comments on the system since you've had yours since June?

Thanks!
