2GB PC3200 OCZ

This is for my gaming AMD machine that I will put together this coming month. (3200+ Venice, DFI SLI-DR MoBo, 7800GTX)

Also do I need "Registered" or "Unregistered" RAM? How about Buffered or Unbuffered? ECC or non ECC?

Thanks a ton in advance.

Since you are only getting a 3200 venice i would look to get some of the new pc4000 ram unless you are prepared to run memory dividers.

mushkin, ocz, and crucial all make some.

Thanks, what is a memory devider? Also, from my previous post regarding 3200+, everyone suggested PC3200 RAM.

that'll work. it's probably gonna be infineon be-5 chips, which usually top out around 220-230mhz

I recommended the 4000 so you wouldn't have to run any mem dividers, you should read up on that link if you don't know what i am talking about. Since your multi is low you are going to need big fsb to get fat OC :D

This memory is bit more, but will run tighter timings and perform better for you:http://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merc...duct_Code=140226&Category_Code=Unbuffered_OCZ

I have the OCZ PC4000 2gb kit listed there, and it will run 265mhz on my DFI NF4 board. Perfromance is very good.

if your gonna waste your money on the ocz4000 stuff, get the Crucial pc400 stuff, ive seen some sets hit ddr600.

True but find me an online store in Canada that sells it. I can't. OCZ? Plenty of sellers. So only option is to order from the US and pay duties and basically get the memory at a super high cost...and their not cheap to begin with. Problem with Crucial is that their selling points when not in the US is crappy unfortunately.

yeah, the guy is all impressed that he hit 230mhz :p
my crucial value could pull 263mhz stable with my newark. i'll have to get a screen of that when i get a new cpu to play with :p

Looking for decently priced 2gb Corsair memory kit in Canada? Check out Vibe Computers. I'm looking at ordering this kit........ TWINX2048-3200C2. They list it at $390can. That is alot cheaper than a set of OCZ Pc4000. Has anyone hit 250fsb with this Corsair stuff? Heres the link...... http://www.vibecomputers.com/index.cfm?loc=hardware&catid=20&brand=CORSAIR
I have that Corsair kit and I couldn't get it to hit 250. It seems to be really nice RAM otherwise.

Corsair RAM works about only 50% of the time on DFI NF4 Lanparty boards....so Cosrsair with that board is a big no no.
