3200+ Venice e6 for $138

Ahh, beat me to it, saw this over at AT :p

DarkenReaper: The fellas at extreme systems and oc forums prefer the older E3 over the E6...YMMV and results can be based on other factors as well (batch etc).

Though the E6 3200+ has other advantages imho in that you start with higher mhz and a higher multiplier... at a $50 discount.

If someone picks one of these up, please let us know the results of the o/c :). My 3000+ seems sorta weak...I've only been able to get like 2.4 out of it (could be my PSU or crappy stock cooler).

Well i don;t know about rest but i bought E6 3000+ from ewiz for $118 and mine did overclock very well 2.7ghz with MSI NEO4 Platinum SLI motherboard & 1 gb geil dual channed pc3200 ram.
I don;t know what settings and motherboards other people uses, but i don;t see any reason that how E3 is better than E6.
And it works fine :)

it is a e6 , my little 3000 e6 does good = to but not much better than the e3.
i guess that it is kind of a lottery--some e-6 are beter than others core wise-- and might do a little better than a e3 --however some e3s do better thanothers and that includes the e6!

-- just forget about the upgradeing a e3 with a e6 as your likely to be tradeing two twin cores.

but any e3 or e6 3200 is a good buy at this price--ya can't beat it !

I ordered one of these last Wednesday but its not here yet...hopefully I'll get it today or tomorrow...I was hoping I'd have it already but I guess UPS wasn't doing anything yesterday cause it was a holiday

if im not going to overclock this, would this be a better buy than the 3500 venice?, saving like $90?

I'd say so, but the choice is on the table. Is 200mhz worth 90 dollars to you? Its 40% cheaper but you lose 9% raw megahertz.

You get more for your money with the 3200+.

yea your absolutely right! wow, thanks to the h0t deals forum im saving like $250 on my next build (by sacrificing a little less power) YAY

I ordered one the other day. Came to $147 with shipping.Already shipped! Let you know the stepping and OC next week after I get system up and running.

would this be a better buy than a 3500 venice 1gb fsb for 219? if i dont oc it?

f*ck yes. And it's easy as hell to OC, expecially just 200mhz. Your Venice will OC 200-400mhz without a hiccup. This is an INSANE deal.

i recently purchased a veniec 3000 and it came in as e6 for a friend.
now i kinda lied and told him 2.6 ghz was guranteed out of these chips.
this e6 veniec does 2400 mhz at 1.5 volts
it will do 2500 mhz game stable but not prime stable even at 1.6 volts.

i got my E6 two days ago and it will do 2.5 Ghz, but my current E3 does 2.6Ghz. Both were 3200 OEM's. I wish I could get my 3000 that I ordered when the Venice cores first came out. That's doing 2.7 Ghz (basically look at my sig, which I need to update)

i have a 3000-e3 and a 3000 e6-- the e-6 clocked a little higher than my e3 but not enough to call it any better . like i said before alot of times a chipset revision is just going to do two things --fix a few bugs and make it a bit cheeper to make-

that is kind of the case here it seems . a good overclocking e3 will overclock a bit more than a e6 but a good e6 can out clock a e3 IF you got two good cores they end up near the same .

my e6 couldn't cut it above 2.89 where my e3 could just reach 2.8 so were talking 90mhz here .

just get the e6 if you need a cpu--otherwise there just like any other venice --what did you folks expect 4 gig on air ?-- for $138 for a 3200 it ain't a bad deal if you need a 3200 .

Which heatsink should I get for this? I was thinking the XP-90 or the XP-90C, but is the XP-90C worth the extra $30 for the 3 degrees celcius difference?

I bought the e6 3000 when it first came out and I'm sailing along at 2.79 310*9 with my ram running at ddr550 I was thinking about buying one of these so I could see if the extra multi would help my oc but I'm not sure. argg hard decision!

Either the xp-90 or the xp-90 copper. Id get the xp-90. I dont think the small little decrease is worth the cash. Svc has them for like $23. The copper I dont remember how much that one is.

Hmm I wonder if these guys accept bank debit cards.

Debit Cards = Bad News

Little known fact folks: Once the merchant has your dough, you have absolutely zero chargeback rights through your bank. It becomes an issue to be resolved between you and the merchant. 'Course, banks love debit cards. :-|
