I know these posts get old, but I really can't make up my mind so I need at least some help. I recently moved from FL to CA. I shipped my Mitsubishi DP930-SB via DHL. I showed the girl who picked up my stuff how I had it packed and she said it'd be fine, not to worry, she guaranteed it'd get to my door okay. Well, it shipped quicker than I thought so rather than have failed deliveries (I had signature verification) I called DHL and told them when I'd be there. They said it wasn't a problem, they'd hold my stuff.

When I get to CA and get my stuff, my monitor is wrecked. I knew something was wrong when I saw the box had been trashed. I said to the guy "damn, it's all beat to hell" to which he replied "well, that's what happens when we have to hold your stuff. It gets moved around and stuff breaks". Thanks for admitting it was your fault, sir. I filed a complaint about the delivery guy's lack of professionalism (there's a whole lot more he said and did, but this is already gonna be a long post and I doubt anyone really cares - but if you do, lemme know and i'll tell the rest) and am in the process of filing an insurance claim. Anyways, The whole back plastic part is split in half and the actual screen just looks not good. Don't know how to describe it... it's not cracked, just sorta discolored like something inside my have broke. I thought about plugging it in to see if there was any chance it still worked, but I hear lots of stuff moving around inside so I think i'm gonna just leave it be.

Now, I need a new monitor. I definitely want to spend less than $400. Around $300-350 would be even better but I'll pay a little extra if I have to. The options I've got so far are:

1) Hyundai L90d+ - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824179014
2) Viewsonic VX924 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824116355
(as if I need to tell you what those are)
3) Another DP930SB-bk (can't find a good leak to specs so hopefully someones familiar with it)
4) Any other suggestions?

I will mainly be using the monitor for gaming and school... so a pretty good all-around monitor that's great for gaming would be perfect. Please help me! Thanks!

Jason

I did... but it'll take a while to get the money for it. I'm currently getting all my receipts and stuff together to send in. Such a pain... thank god for Dell/Circuit City keeping good records (the monitor was from Dell, my TV - a Sony KV27FV-310 from CC was also damaged, but not nearly as bad as the monitor)

Okay well... i went ahead and bought the crt. I got it from www.techforless.com for $229 shipped. It was open box but they had good reviews on pricegrabber, resellerratings, etc so hopefully it'll be all good. 30 day return policy and 3 year warranty (i'm pretty sure) so at least i'm covered there. It was the only one they had so I had to act quick! :p

I'll wait till my next financial aid check rolls around in January to consider upgrading to w/e great LCD tech is out at the time. Maybe what's out then will make switching less difficult of a decision. Plus, I won't have just moved so I'll have a little more $$ to spend.

I think/hope I made the right choice!

Viewsonic VX924 I have this one. I went though 3 Dells before this one its perfect for me no bluring no ghosting great picture just adjust the contrast a little.

Also no dead pixs or backlighting problems. But this is just my opinion on this monitor I got.
