I just got a bad*&^ laptop and I could use some help from all of you on what games would be good to get. I love FPS games and my buddy and I are playing co-op on Ghost Recon right now. Any suggestions on others that would be good (multi player)?

I'd heard it's good. What about UT2K4? I saw a guy saying he had it for $7.99. Where is a good place to shop for games?? I've been looking at a game shop by the house, but they're high.

I think I was the one that posted about UT2k4, well it is now backordered on Newegg. Someone said you could snag it for around $12 on www.gogamer.com (dvd version).

How bad is your laptop anyways? You have any specs?

I would suggest if it's not all that great look into:

Deus Ex
Half-Life
Doom
Hexen
Return to Castle Wolfenstein
Soldier of Fortune

If you it's decent you could look at:

Half-Life 2
Doom 3 and Ressurection of Evil (expansion)
Far Cry
Deus Ex: invsible war
and as suggested before, BF2

My buddy has an Area-51, and I got one exactly like his (except my processor has a 2M cache and his only has a 1M). I've got an Intel 650 3.4Ghz processor w/ 2M cache
Radeon 256MB graphics
160Gig HDD (dual 80's with Raid 0)
2 gig of Ram (2- 1024)
17" display w/ camera
dual optical drives (DVD rom/CDRW and a
DVD burner)
7-in-1 card reader
wireless w/ bluetooth......................

Oh well you should definitely be able to run almost any new game and then some. What type of graphics card do you have (I know it has 256 memory) so I assume it's a 6800gt or Ultra? Or maybe an ATI 800xt 850xt?

It's the (let me quote the spec) -256MB PCI-Express ATI X800 w/GDDR3.
Me and my buddy had found on his alienware that we couldn't turn the graphics all the way up and play for more than 45 minutes w/out a headache. I told this to the guy when I was ordering and he said that for the display, and for the money, this was the way to go. He said that I probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference, side-by-side, between my computer and one with all that they had to offer (and of course why should I spend $5K for one when I could get one for $3K). I am hoping that I can get by with this one for at least three years.

My God you should be easily able to run Doom 3, HL2, Far Cry, and the other graphically demanding games. Probably not with everything on high (at least with Doom3, Far Cry, BF2), but definitely should be able to play any FPS under the sun.

So what you waiting for? Start Buying! :)

I've just got to get off of this oil rig so I can go to a store!!!! I'm stuck in the middle of the GOM right now. I can't wait to get some of these other games, though. I haven't been able to leave my computer alone since I got it!!

ut owns ur soul. Get ut2004.... And play some serious sam with ur buddy.
