Anyone know if flying a helicopter w/ a joystick is easier? I can't seem to control it well with the mouse. Also.. helicopters can not only tilt left'n right, but u can spin the rotor so that it kinda spinds around instead of tilting right? anyone know what buttons do that?

and

Anyone know how to effectively use anti-tank kits? It seems that sometimes I can blow up a tank in one or two shots, but sometimes all the rockets won't even do the trick. There's gotta be some sweet spot to shoot for right?

oh.. anyone have comments on the shotguns given to the engineers and/or anti-tank?

last: How can you reset an account or restart? I want a new name :D

Yes, a joystick is better. It allowed for better control. The buttons have to be bound in the control menu.

Try aiming for the soft spots of vehicles. Some you can destroy with one shot no matter what, such as the jeep, buggy, etc. Others such as tanks, have stronger armor up front. So hitting them in the back, of sides is best.

Also, the rockets are on a wire. You can guide them somewhat, by holding down the fire button after you shoot it. The site turns red when this is enabled. You can "snipe" someone far, far away doing this. And it makes it easier to hit a moving chopper, tank, or anything else.
 
I just got advice that aiming for the top part of a tank, where the gun is.. will kill it faster than any other spot.. anyone wanna confirm this? :D it seems logical to me.
 
Never aim for the front of a tank with the rocket launcher. It's way too heavily armored and you won't do much damage, maybe 1 bar of life. Aim to the sides or back, aiming for the gun hasn't done me or friends anygood in the past.
 
The back of the tank and turret are the weakest parts. Two shots in the back with the anti tank missle and its done.

And flying with the mouse isnt that hard, turn the sensitivity up and you're golden.
 
If you can get your rocket down the barrel of tank's gun its a one-shot kill. Same applies for tank-to-tank combat. Otherwise, yes, the back is weaker.

You can delete your account when you first start the game. Instead of signing into your profile, delete it and make a new one.

actually, i tested that out with the spaw and found that to not work. it is hard enought doing it, but the round doesnt actually go inside the barrel.

Yaw is done via the strafe buttons by default.

4 rounds should do it, leaves ya 3 for emergency
find a quiet corner for reload
 
You can fly pretty effectivly with the keyboard and mouse, i've racked up over 400 kills so far with the attack helicopters.

I'm not very fond of the shotguns, the range on them is horrible. If you can get up close though they are a beast.
 
LOL, I remember playing one got a fully loaded black hawk with every gun manned.. Here we gooo up up and into the sea.. hahah :D

And does anyone know if they fixed the bugg/laggy/unresponsive server broweser?
 
Personally I love the pump shotgun. Do not go across open ground without support though. The city maps are best for it, especially the ones were you can go in alleys and such. Sneak up on people so you don't get caught trying to reload. If you treat the shotgun like a longer ranged knife then you can do fairly well with it. It is probably one of my favorites.
 
Ever since I downloaded the first patch they put out the in game server browser has worked great for me, I know alot of people are still have some issues though...
 
hah! The server browser worked perfect for me... UNTIL the first patch. 2nd patch still didn't fix it.
 
If you see a friendly tank with a wrench or ammo icon above his name, that means he can repair your tank/vehicle/helo automatically just by getting close to them.

I have said this before but it bears repeating: When you are running up to a vehicle hold down your 'enter vehicle key' (default e). This way, even if the vehicle is about to hit you, you will enter before you take damage or die. Once again, hold e, as you approach a vehicle you wish to enter.

If the driver moves slightly and tks you. Think about it before you punish him. Was it really his fault or did you run up to a rotating tank with out holding 'e'? Good tank pilots try not to sit still for too long. Ever get hit by a tank? It hurts.


Also, the big red pulsating bulls-eye on your mini map means that Arty is comming. DO NOT ENTER the area of the bulls eye or you will most likely die. Lets say you enter the arty area anyway. Dont punish the commander for your stupidity. This goes for helos too. If you hear 'arty at your area' that means death is comming.
 
ya, sitting still in a vehicle larger than the GO-carts at a flag is tantamount to screaming
"PLEASE PLACE C4 ON MY ASS"

and any vehicle sliding/rolling down a minor slope is covered with RAZOR BLADES
exit carefully and clear the area!

Use your mouse and keyboard. Practice with a single player map that gives you a helo. Flying with a joystick is lame, requires no skill, and besides popular belief a mouse and keyboard give you better manuevaribility over a joystick.
 
I don't like joysticks at all. You can control the jets and helicopters easily with the keyboard and mouse. I never have a problem, I can do virtually everything after practice. You do need a good mouse and mouse pad though, or else your hardware won't respond to your skill.
 
You need a fairly large mousepad area if you want to be able to do any radical flying, I'm finding. I might actually buy something instead of using this game box cardboard insert.
 
The ideal heli crew setup should be mentioned. I believe it's called "whoring"? Anyway, if you take one engineer and a support guy together. You can crank some points really quickly just sitting in the damn thing as you go flag to flag. NOt easy to do anymore as anyone and their brother can shoot crap out of the sky with another aircraft, or the good AA vehicles, etc.

Also fun for the engineer to just perpetually drop mines outta the chopper.
 
If you have the m95, the best way to use its glass penetration is to hide out at the enemy base.

When u see someone going into the helo, aim at where the pilot's head is and it's ez pickings.

keep moving

dont stop to 'hang out' once you cap a point...get going to the next one if you cant get in a vehicle, start walking

just dont hang out at a flag you just capped cuz youll prolly get arty on your head

I use WASD and arrows to control it. Works perfectly.

Yeah, I only use the keyboard to control planes\helicopters.

you know, i was going to ask this question, i hate using the mouse, i only use keyboard and i can hover and evade missles and do all that shit.
:D
 
BTW - One hit tank and APC kills, try aiming for the gas tank. Not sure if it's one hit on the Tanks (believe it is) but it's a charm no the APC's.
