PM me if you want ON or OFF this list.

And don't forget to say that you're a member in your sig!

Well for 1 more week I do...

I have a unlocked 2500+ at 2.35GHz (250x9.5) with a ram divider of 4:5 on my NF7-S 2.0

We FAH users love Socket A! So friggen cheap! I got a duron 800 running at home, so I'm also a 18nm usah!

Count me in! Wanna do an irc channel like the 754 club did (tried)? You can call me director of communications, if you want.

I think it'll be #socketa on irc.foreverchat.net

See you soon!

socket A till i die (or get enough money to buy new system, or my current one dies)

1800xp to the max

you guys gotta tell me whether you want in or not clearly, you're subjecting me to a bit of guess work.

Anyways, this irc thing sounds like fun... I've never actually used irc though.

I love the socket A in my HTPC!!!! The 3000+ Barton runs great and my MN31N is perfect for all my HT need with its soundstorm capabilities. Until someone comes out with another mATX board with Dolby Live I will be rocking that socket A.

I have 2 going right now and a 3rd that the in-laws are using.

My main rig: Athlon Thunderbird 1200MHz :( Currently on it's 2nd motherboard
Linux box: Duron Morgan 1000MHz Also on it's second motherboard
In-laws: Athlon Thunderbird 700@850MHz Still kicking on the Asus A7V I bought for it 4 or 5 years ago.

I think Socket A is the best choice for a HTPC, for a few more days anyway.:p

My new rig is gonna be powered by a 3000+ XP Socket A! I'm new to this forum but I thought I might lend a little support! :)

I'm not seeing anything in sigs yet... except for I(lla Bee. " President of the s754&A ownage Club "
edit: now our director of communications is 'sig'd up' also.
lol

And, uh, the irc is up, just as I said initially. Completely and totally unofficial.

Hehe I get a title. Heck I didn't even pay for my duron... but the 2600+ across the room costed a little bit.

Socket A owns all in terms of getting a system cheap.

Okay, convince me.

Can't go on price alone either, or you'll lose to some relic from the early 80's. Must give reasonable requirements that a Socket A system fills and is the cheapest + best solution for.

Personally I think the Sempr0ns are going to kick your ass, but I'm open to being shown otherwise. :D

I'd love............to get rid of my Socket A 1333 Tbird. Bought a laptop, need to get rid of the Tbird system to offset the purchase.

So, can I be the official Defector?

Somehow I think your Opteron Dually rig with 7800GTX et cetra, kinda puts you over the bar for this one.

As the director of communications, I recommend sending it to Socket A Club headquarters, and we will *cough* distribute it to a worthr recipient.

I have 2...

Don't plan on upgrading until they burn down in a conflagration of stinky electronic smoke

Do the Socket A MP chips count? If so I have two of those running in a box. Also wife has a XP1.8, kid # 2 has a 2600 Sempron SA, kid #3 has a 1.2 Duron.

I want in! ( new position..."dually chief"? )

hey now, I thin kyou read me wrong, Take me off that list..

I loved my SOcky A when It was good, but now I dont even consider it a budjet PC, and all the cheap inernet rigs I build for people at like s754 at least

Down with Socket A, retire that tired Beast...

I wonder if anyone owns the 3400+

I think there is a conspriracy to make us switch. LOL I just bought one to be cheap. I'm happy enough but I noticed not only is the 3400 no longer available, the 3200 lately is hard to find as well. And, at a price that would make you consider another socket + mobo.

Well, I figure there will be fans for socket A for a while.

there was no 3400+

The 3200+ is definitely not hard to find.. check out all the listings on pricewatch

I'm not proud of being a Socket A owner though. It's bottlenecking the performance of my video card :(

oh and FYI there was a 3400.. this link was mentioned on another thread: http://www.amdboard.com/barton3400.html
get 9800 pro for that amd mobo andu should be fine for long long long long time. uhh don't get 6600 gt for that mobo lol.

Give it to me and sure! Pay you 5 bucks for it!

i have a 2500+ that does 2.25ghz on stock voltage, does that count for anything? :D

a little off topic, anyone familar of "love ur socket 478 or 775" club?
just curious lol.

Edit: same with xeon and opteron lol. :p

35w barton 4 life... count me in.. i don't know if there are any rankings left..

i mean.. talk about a product that holds its value.. i got my shuttle for $245 a year ago.. the v3 of my shuttle costs more.. my 2200+ 35w costs more new than when i got it.. too bad for the value of my bh-5 though...

Hmm, I've got 4 other PC's here that are all still on socket A, my main rig (what I'm typeing this from) is now s754 though

Do I still count? :D :p

for what it's worth, I didn't give up the Socket A 1333 for the dual opterons....

I gave it up for the mobile FCPGA 933 Pentium 933 that's in my A30 laptop (that's not listed in my sig).

But, fine!

I've started my own club.

Maybe I should start a Slot A lovers club, as technically, I do have a 700mhz HP that I'm in charge of....(Although it is officially my parents')

You can still be in this club. We are very open and friendly!

Vice President and PR Guy are still open, next post gets to pic.
