What are the 2005's backlight problems. Can someone link a screenshot or something and point out the problem?

...aaaand by that im sure he meant a "screenshot" with a digital camera or something ;)

idk if you can capture backlight issues with a camera though...

You must have a small business account then? I have a 'Home' account with them, and have been able to check order status in the past, but I don't see anything about my monitor order in there, and placed my Order last week. I also did NOT receive an e-mail confirmation, and have just left here a voicemail asking for a call back to confim my order.

Damnit Jim.

Nope I have a Home Account, You dont go to Order status.. Go to the link in your EMail Confirmation, Then you put ur order number + your ship zip. Then it will pop up.. :D

How can he go to he link in his Email confirmation if he didn't receive a Email confirmation? :D

BTW, This deal is good till Wednesday.. After that back to normal price... ;)

YAY! Finally got ahold of her and she 're-sent' the confirmation, and I actually received it this time. According to her it will ship out by tomorrow, but the e-mail says estimated ship date of 6/30...(free 2-day shipping) that will suck if I don't get it this week. Would be nice to have and play some widescreen BF2 over the holiday weekend.

WTF is with people bitching about backlight bleeding on Dell LCDs or LCDs in general? Maybe I've not noticed with my 2005FPW or not knowing what to look for? Does anyone have pics or links to pics to show backlight bleeding? I'll bet that the people bitching about backlight bleeding are the ones also bitching about one dead pixel on the Sony PSP. :p

That sucks........................ But hey at least you got to step up... I had to buy a new card..

Yeah, the GTX came out like a week before mine expired, and I'm thinking LUCKY!! turns out I have to wait a bit, but it did just come out days before, so I don't have much room for complaint.

FREE SHIPPING DOESN'T APPLY TO FREAKIN' HAWAII!

It's just like we're not part of the States...Hmm, or are we...

unless fedex and ups trucks are amphibious, it's understandable that shipping will cost more to an ISLAND way out in the pacific ;)

Ever watch a movie on your LCD? Or visit a webpage with a lot of black as the background?

If you don't notice it, more power to you. I'm glad I don't either.

Hey Patricia,

anyway dell accepts monthly payments of $15? maybe you can hook poor college students like me. I'll be graduating next year and when i get a job i'll up my monthly payments to $30. That sounds like a great offer, what do you think?

I'm guessing this is only for the US  If it was open to the EU, I'd jump on this offer like a bobcat! :) I'd buy THREE even! :D

Could be worse, I ordered a week ago for $899 and have the same ship date. Also, BF2 doesn't fully support widescreen (you can fill the screen, but it will be stretched due to the point of view). Hopefully the developers will be working on a fix in an upcoming patch.

Congrats on ur purchases. I've been paying attention to the price of this monitor for some time now. It's be great if you could share ur opinion. So here's my question.
Since I don't have quick cash even for the very tempting sale price what if I could get the $29/month price for $959 as of now (on the website) by applying and getting approved on Dell Preffered account thing with interest rate of say...17%? Looks like the payment will last for about 3 years.
Do you think it's a good idea for a poor guys like me to get his hands on this little puppy(Not so little I guess :D) provided that I get aproved with the Preffered account? I know I'll be paying some more for the interest and finanncing and all that crap in the end. Also, how much more will I be paying? Is it going to be basically 17% more of the $959? I have no experience with this type of transaction so if anyone could give me some word of advice I'd appreciate it very much.

$899 right now...impossible. $30 bucks a month...pleasantly possible. :p

I emailed Patricia yesterday regarding this offer, and still no reply. :(

The Offer finishes today as well... sigh... Oh well, at least I tried... I would've bought THREE of these if it was open to international customers such as myself.

I did. I did I did.

I did what u did, Jasonx82. Paid $882 total including tax. Free 2nd day shipping. I think I'm going crazy here. Can I go crazy? Don't mind if I do!!! :D :D :D
Goodbye 6 year old 17" Gateway although it served me well. This is my first LCD purchase ever. Hope it's as good as all the happy owners in the longest thread in the display forum.

Cheers.

P. S. Carloboy, I hear ya. I'll be having ramens for the next few months but I don't care. :D

Just received mine today after DHL "lost" the 1st one. I must say this monitor is much larger then I imagined and looks really great. I like that it takes a standard computer power plug and doesn’t need one of those power converter boxes that sit on the floor like my 2001FP’s need. The media card reader on the side is pretty cool too.

:)

I'm curious to know when he ordered his as well. I ordered mine Friday I believe (or Thursday), and the status page doesn't show mine as being shipped yet eiather. Although, the lady said, when I called her Monday, that she expected all of them that had been ordered up to that point (Monday I guess?) would be shipped out by Wednesday (Today).
So, I'm sure hoping so, cuz when I ordered it, she told me that I would get it this week.

I ordered my first one during an earlier deal on the 16th-ish. That shipment was lost by DHL, so dell ordered me a replacement one on the 23rd and I received it yesterday (29th).

I put up the multi-colored backgrounds and I didnt see any dead pixels. I then went to black and didnt notice any issues with the back light but from what I understand that issue doesnt always happen right away out of the box.

As far as pixels...my crappy Rosewill went through a phase for a few days during the last week where one was stuck lit yellow. Went away again. *shrug* schitzo piece of crap, I hope my 2405 gets here soon...

Got this email from dell this morning concerning my monitor.

"will not be able to ship this order and any associated orders until on or before 07-08-2005."

GG DELL blech

Me too... gdmsob's... I'm not cancelling, but I'm going to be a 'SCREECHING' wheel, until I get some sort of good grease.

If I get one with tilting or dead pixels after all this Im gonna shove Patricia's head through it.

Mine's now showing as in transit, and EVGA rep says they're sending out a bunch of the step-up GTXs tomorrow (well, not sending, but telling people theirs is ready and to ship their old one in).
