I work for a small software company that makes managment software for the salon/day spa industry (i know, real exciting  but it's work...) and what we're looking for is something that can automaticly take a list of customers and phone numbers and call them all through and confrm their appoitnments. Something along the lines of "Hello, <name> this is to confirm your appointment at <name> for <service> at <time>. Please press 1 to confirm." After this it would save the results into some sort of db.

I was thinking this isn't really all that different than when blockbuster calls you to remind you of over due movies, or the library, etc.

Anyone have any idea as to any good software that could do this using VOIP? There is a company we could out source this too, but we would like to do this in house at our office and offer it as a service to our clients.

Thanks in advance for any help, i'm kinda stuck.

Note: This isn't for telemarketing, just thought i'd clerify that.

We looked for something like this for quite a while, and eventually just developed our own. If there is anything out there, I'd love to know more about it.

Anyone have any ideas?

It dosen't have to be VOIP based, i'm just trying to find anything at this point that can automaticly make calls and play back a recording. I'm kind of new to telecom.

Any ideas on where to even start looking?

Thanks

I don't see why you could not do this with a VoIP solution (given you had a server/system with the call placing intelligence) as IP is only the transport mechanism much like traditional POTS, PSTN, etc. Look into Asterisk , it is a fully functional IP based PBX/call manager with integrated voicemail. It may be able to do this(or at least get it started) for you and be less expensive than a solution through Cisco or Nortel.
