New 939 mATX @ Newegg!!!

hmmm, I have a similar setup to VanillaCoke but I cant get the SATA to work.

The Windows XP install cant see my SATA harddrive.

I just recieved this JetWay mobo so any help is appreciated.

I think I may need to install 3rd party drivers during windows XP install, but im not sure where to get them. The motherboard didnt come with a floppy disk, just a CD

Sometimes they dont come with them, look at the SATA controller chip and see what kind it is.

could you really do that?

tuphdc heres what you need to do.
1. put the mobo cd in another computer with a floppy driver
2. explore the cd and copy all the contents of the folder named "Floppy" onto the floppy.
3. start up your new comp with a floppy drive plugged in.
4. load the xp cd, press F6 at the start where it says install SCSI / Raid drivers.
5. It should goto a screen after loading a bunch of junk that lets you load the drivers and then it will recognize the drive.

290 huh? Well that's not bad! :) Wonder if I could use that board's bios on mine...
Hey why don't you try it, it might just work?

tuphdc can you try some OC and see how high you can get?

and sleepeeg3 how can i adjust the divider? I dont know / see any options for that, I can adjust the ram timings manually, and there is something with +/- %'s in the screen for adjusting the fsb. I tried lowering the ram mhz to like 163 and putting the fsb higher but it wouldnt work.

Going to. :) I just can't afford to be without a board until the weekend, if I need to go buy a board to hotflash it back.

VC, I don't know what to tell you. Take some pictures of the bios or something, if you can't figure it out. The options are going to be like 100/133/166/200/AUTO. Pick 166 or lower.

+/- % sounds like the spread spectrum, which should automatically get disabled when you overclock. I'd disable it anyway, although it doesn't make much of a difference, either way.

I think this is what you are looking for. In your manual on page 35 under Miscellaneous Control you will see: DRAM Clock at next Boot.........................Auto

The options are 100MHz, 133MHz, 166MHz, or 200MHz

^ That's it. I didn't remember Jetway having any info on the boards up yet.

Hey did you guys notice that there are now two version of the Jetway board out now? A Pro & a non-pro?

Standard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ShowI... ATI RS480 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail
Pro: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ShowI... ATI RS480 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail

Only difference I can see is if you look at the middle, there are two chips, that look like GDDR, & two caps missing from the standard version. Both say they have onboard VGA, so I guess one shares vid ram and the other does not? Wonder if there is any other differences...

Yeah, I just been pretty busy setting up this new system but now that I have some play time I'm ready to give it a shot.

My system is as follows:

Athlon 64 3000+ Venice w/ Stock Cooler + Arctic Silver 5
JetWay A210GDMS-Pro
512MB Corsair PC3200 ValueRam Cas2.5
CoolMax 400W Power Supply
120GB Hitachi SATA Drive
Plextor IDE DVD Drive

As of right now I am OC'd to 2.0GHz with a 1:1 ratio. Memory is at 222MHz and 7-3-3-1T and CAS2.5, also I lowered VCore to 1.3V and VMEM is 2.65V.

I tried to lower the multiplier from 9 to 4 but it wouldnt boot.

If you have any tips to better my OC, i'll give it a shot.

They dont. I just received the board today and found that in the bios section of the manual. I will be setting mine up after I get the rest of the parts. Hopefully within the next two weeks! Like the look of everything so far. :)

Well you might want to try raising the voltage and not lowering the multi! :p Max the VMEM out too, it's not going to hurt the ram.

Have we already confirmed that this board has HTT multi control?

Ask Rocketman 247. I would be surprised if it didn't, but a good question.. With that much fsb, it's not crucial.

Well, if he can't drop it down to 3, how is he going to approach htt of 300?

He's not. His bios limits him to 280.

Well guys I have good news and bad news. I tried the ECS RX480-A bios and it works! The bad news is, adjusting the fsb above 250 does not work, VCORE still remains @ 1.45v and although the VDIMM says it goes up to 2.9v, I think it is still only giving the max (2.7v) from the ECS RS480-M board. The only good thing is, I finally have full memory timings control, I can finally disable the splash screen and I think it boots faster.

What HTT multi does he have then? 280x4=1120 Will the htt run stable at that speed?

280 could theoretically get a 10 multi Venice up to that core's limit of around 2800.

It work for me to but the onboard video does not work with this bios :( . Also if you press CTRL+ F1 at the same time in the bios you get a few more options ;) .

Cool! Thanks for the tip. I noticed it was missing the slew rate and probably a few more things. I've been trying to nab an Award bios editor to see if I can open up the timings on the original bios, but have not found anything that is compatible yet. Think I need to either grab the modbin-lovelust version or the ASUS CMOD(?) editor.

Edit: Well I now have access to "MTRR Mapping Mode" and "Memory Hole." I can't say I'm real excited. :D

can anyone confirm that the ram divider doesnt work on the jetway pro board? from what i read on another forum it doesnt work. this is a problem for me as i have 2 gb of memory that wont oc much past 200 fsb

was wanting to purchase this board as its best available at this time in matx 939

hugs

I can not confirm as I do not have the cpu to set mine up yet. Do you happen to have a link to that forum. I will be very disappointed if it does not work. After answering Vanilla Cokes question I was hoping we would hear more......like 400mhz more.

JetWay A210GDMS-Pro Socket 939 ATI RS480 Micro

seems the Jetway doesnt have a divider that works on this board . supposedly Jetway is working on a fix to this problem how long this will take or if it will happen is a mystery to me.

cant we have one decent matx 939 motherboard

Ordered 3200+ venice core and X700pro today. Should receive by Friday and be able to test. I read the entire thread that Jen linked and am not sure if it is entirely accurate. Seems to be some confusion. I still have my hopes up!

please keep us updated on your progress and findings.

i'm so dizzy ,

Yes, my new system has been running the Jetway A210GDMA-Pro for bout a week now.

The CPU multiplier(lowering doesn't work for me) and the DRAM divider do not seem to work. I have no doubt a newer BIOS can fix this.

You have not given me enough information about your problem.

Dram Divider is control by the CPU. The CPU will detect the DRAM speed automatically. If you are using DDR400, the system will automatically set the dram divider for DDR400.

Multiplier is also control by the CPU. On the previous one it is capable of being lowered and cannot be increased.

Please specify the problem more clearly.

Here is a newer bios to support the dual core CPU.

Subject: a210gdms-pro help

I own an A210gdms-Pro and I am having problems. I am using a Venice Athlon 64 3000+ and 512MB Corsair CAS2.5 with no overclocking. However, the CPU multiplier does not work. And the DRAM divider does not work.

If there is a BIOS update available can you provide a web address please?

Can anyone that has the board please answer these questions specifically.

What is the MAX vcore and vdimm? are there any other controllable voltages for the motherboard?

Can you control the HTT multiplier? NOT the FSB but the HTT.

What are the memory controls? Can you adjust more then just the CAS and command timing?

These are the overclocking questions we seek answers to.

Interesting. So if you put in pc2700 it would keep dram at 166? I suppose if a bios can set ram speed and timings 'by spd', like many do, it's possible it could be forced that way in bios. Safe, but if your ram can do better than its rated speed, you're SOL.

Are you sure the CPU multi cannot be changed?

What is the rep talking about here?

Previous one? What previous one? Bios?

humblepie, read the thread. There were a few of your questions already answered.

The CPU multiplier can be lowered from 9 to 4 for my 3000+ venice. However, multiplier 4 doesn't work. The others work.

The most important one is the DRAM speed, which can be set to Auo, 200, 166, 133, or 100. But no matter what I set it to, the mobo always runs my PC3200 at 400MHz.

Have you gotten the FSB any higher since you've had a chance to play with it?
What's the fastest your pc3200 will do? Is there any indication that the board isn't locking your memory bus to 'by spd' ? i.e. are you hitting a fsb wall sooner than you otherwise would for that core, as if you were running ram 1:1 and ram limited?

I have a question to the proud owners of this board :) . Are there any on-board headers for TV-out or digital audio? And what is this dongle which is shown on the egg as sold with the board?
Thanks.
