I have been drooling over watercooled PC's for too long now. I have decided that I really want to pursue a water cooling setup. I am completely lost in the vastness of available options. Basically, I want someone to put me in the right direction, and tell me what to buy. I really like the Aqua computer stuff but for watercooling wannabe I do not think it is the right choice. Swiftech has been in my head for quite sometime now and I think I would like to head in that direction.

So bascially I want someone to really sit down with me and go over some stuff. I am willing to pay like $8 or $9 an hour for someone's time with this.

You can even call me on my cell

The current setup I want to cool is in my sig.

For component selection, heres a nice guide: http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=369416&page=1&pp=30

To put together a real quick, high performance cpu + vga loop for around $300:
Whitewater
Maze4 gpu
ThermoChill PA160
Laing DDC
T-line or reservoir, do some research & decide for yourself
10' Clearflex 60
Hose clamps, distilled h2o, antifreeze/water wetter/etc.

To lower the cost: Swifty 6002 instead of WW
BIPII or car heater core instead of PA160
Eheim 1048 or Hydor equivalent instead of DDC

Id suggest you spend an evening or two looking through the WC tips section of overclockers.com, and just do some more (free) research. Sorry to stop anyone else from losing some cold hard cash :p

Watercooling is a personal taste.

I'd suggest you start off by looking at the pics in the "Show your WC rig"

Then that would give you an idea of what kind of setup you want.

Then pick what you want\

take your time reading all the stickies from:

here.
anandtech.com
ocforums.com

they're very helpful and will narrow your decisions as far as what's the best watercooling system for you

Probably his ex-girlfriend's cell... trying to mess with her having a ton of geeks calling her at all hours of the night:
"Hey, I'll watercool you for $8/hr" or "I'll get you 'wet' for $8/hr" :D

Actually setting up an Aqua Computer rig is less hassle than setting up a BIB rig. Also keep in mind once you go Aqua Computer you will never go back to being a mundane, because you will realize we are telling the truth and there is no measurable difference in the performance of your computer as far as water cooling your rig.

BIB=Bigger Is Better, which is true in the WC world for performance and current availability.
LoStMaTt, do some research on AC components if you want, but be prepared to get a second mortgage if you arent swimming in $ right now :p
Really, theres been tons of discussion of AC in other threads, so lets just use this thread for helping LoStMaTt.
So, LoStMaTt, if that is your real name, do some more research about going with a 1/2" or 1/4" setup, give us a prefered budget, and we can help you put togther a nice setup fro free cause we're bored.

I'll do it for 10.00 an hour plus room and board, i hope your a good cook.

I was once is your shoes, but I went a different route:

I bought a Koolance case and went from there.

It has the Pump/Reservoir/Radiator/Fans all built into the case. You basically plop your Motherboard in, cut your tubes to size, fit those onto your cooling blocks, take the MB out, fill it, let it run, then when you get no leaks, install everything like normal, follow a few directions for mounting the blocks and you have yourself a watercooling setup.

NOW I know how to do it myself and can easily put one together. A buddy of mine went the other direction and just bought all the Water cool parts and retro fit it into his case...

Needless to say we called it the "Ghetto Mod" (haha sorry Zoramac) and now he's got the experience from that maybe the "harder" way then I have.

I'm talking from experience and don't have any complaints.

That statement is only true in the heads of the male population. As has been noted throught the life of the world: It don't matter how big it is so much as how you use it. Actually BIB is on the wane as the far greater amount of hardware produced for water cooling is low flow designs.

BIB = Top Fuel Funny Car's

Low Flow = BMW :D

Koolance is low flow and it works very well. Just makes the BIB crowd gnash their teeth and moan how it really doesn't work. :D

Low Flow Will Assimilate All....Resistance Is Futile!

TopNurse, can we please not start turning the Watercooling section into a fanb*y flame war like every other place on this forum?!

I understand you enjoy your AC gear, you dont need to bash other equally as good solutions. A few months ago the Watercooling forum was a good place where people suggested multiple different solutions to a single setup. Unbiasedly discussed the pro's and con's of each. People didn't needlessly bash competitors, or needlessly hype up their favorites.

The recent trend of the AC fans to bash everything else makes me realize why I stopped posting here so much, you all are starting to sound worse than the console boys or video card fanatics. Can we please get the WC forum back to where it used to be? A place where people could get unbiased advice and help on watercooling?

Okay... just having a little fun with the BIB folks because they repeatedly bash low flow systems as not even working. And it was OT so I apoligize.

Thank you.

Ugh, go cheap, go easy, go Danger Den. It was my first kit, and I am probably keeping this kit for a very, very, very long time. Or until I have to upgrade the blocks in which case i'll commit suicide first because I absolutely hate and despise taking apart the system seeing as I spill water all over the place usually on my floor and such and oh my god I feel really sorry for the people who pay attention to grammar and such because this is a big run on sentence.

Seriously though. Danger Den was my first DIY kit. It serves me well.
