DasKeyboard

Haha, I just found out about this yesterday and now I see this thread...
I am going to paint my keyboard if I can get my lazy ass off of this chair...

Hence why I want to spray paint my keyboard.. :)

Spray paint doesn't get you the variable key rates, and that's the feature I'm most interested in.

Eight bucks is pretty spendy, but if it works better than my IBM Model M keyboards, I'd be interested in buying a couple.

after seeing this on slashdot the other day i wanted to see what it was like having nothing on the keys so i took a sharpie to my old dell keyboard. it does feel like it makes you a faster typer, but the thing that really slowed me down is the symbols that you use all the time, like !@#$%^&*(()_

other than the symbols i do pretty good with nothing on the keys, i dont really look down that much anyways.

Oh you do, you just don't realize it...
My friend said he never looks at the keyboard, but I watched him type and he is constantly looking down even though he types great and fast with little mistakes or none.

..Your not supposed to look down..I don't..I can't actually, I would be looking at desk..

Das Keyboard the KB with NOTHING on any of the keys. Works with Windows, OS X, and Linux. Only $79.95 shipped. The two good things about this KB are the fact it has premium keyswitches, and different levels of key wieght depending on where the keys are located. As for me, maybe I should buy one and learn to touch type after 35 years instead of having to look at the keys. :D

Hi,

I merged the thread because the same topic and title came-up yesterday afternoon. That OK?

gl :)

Such a wank IMO. If you want to type faster, practice, don't buy some gimmiky shit. Best keyboard for typing is the Logitech Elite cause it has mega short travel. Raised my wpm by like 10 when i got it (i type at 85 on the average day with my mac kb).

As for paying $80 i'd only pay that for a keyboard that was basically a logitech elite with a physical switch to change it to DVORAK and both DVORAK and QWERTY layouts on the keys :p

I already type fast; between 100 and 110 words per minute. This keyboard says it can double my speed; even if it gives only a fifty percent improvement, typing 150 wpm would be worthwhile!

Dude its all a gimmick. Switch to DVORAK if you want to type faster.

So you didn't find the variety of spring rates helpful?
I know I would like that feature, sounds nice as I always miss some keys with my pinky because my keyboard takes too much force to press down on those keys.
