Best pad for 1600dpi optical mouse w/ red LED?

As above. Using a Diamondback 'Salamander Red' mouse on an Icemat 2E black, and while 99% of the time it works great...SOMETIMES, it just seems to 'stick' or something - won't move outside an area on the screen smoothly or something.

Guessing it's a tracking issue, as I only noticed it today when it got REALLY hot in the house and I was using the mouse a lot for some precision work - kinda got a little sweaty on the pad (only downside to using glass pads - they seem to attract liquid) and I think it was mousing over that which caused the problem.

Hence, question as to the pad - would a different *color* be any better? More textured pad? etc?

The Icemat is the best solid mouse-pad there is, simple as that. As for 'sticking' i say stop sweating, cause thats whats causing it. Either that or small bits of misc crap that land on it, both of which have nothing to do with the mousepads colour nore texture, and which both of are the best you can get.

My advice, buy a tennis sweatband and stop nit-picking and maybe buy mouse-skates if you dun have any on.

If you 'need' to buy something new, get a DKT pad, they're the only thing that goes close to the IceMat cause they're very comfortable (being a clothpad) and don't suffer from the sweat issues of the icemat.

Hey now, it's not like I sweat *much* - just a bit on the palm where it rests on the mouse and pad. I'm hardly this constantly perspiring fattie or something.

I've actually been using a roll of teflon tape on the mouse feet - most teflon mouse pads seem to lose their "new" smoothness after a couple weeks (even if they are still smooth after that, it's just not AS smooth), so having a roll of teflon tape to just cut new pieces off of works great.
