static problem

its the front of the case, i took the front off away from touching the rest, and when i touch the front nothing happens and when i touch the rest of the case nothihg happens. but when i put the front of the case on the rest of teh case and touch the front its shocks the mobo somehow and restarts. so this shows its neither the psu, or the cord, or the wall outlets

One or more of the many things in the front bezel of your case is grounding out against the metal frame of the case or the metal of the bezel. Remove and/or insulate all exposed metal connections and wires and see if the problem continues. In fact, I would remove everything but the LEDs and case switches from the front bezel and add it back one at at time to see when the problem starts again.

Edit:
BTW, the attempts with the bypassing/adding grounding connections were just plain stupid. What if the problem had been in the PSU or the power cable? If it had been a short in either of those it could have fed voltage back into the PSU/case instead of to ground, possibly frying everything inside and/or causing a fire. You could also have been shocked (quite possibly fatally) either by AC 120V (not so bad, usually just hurts like a SOB for a couple of hours) or DC 5-20,000V (hurts like hell and you can't let go once you grab something live with DC normally) had it been a short. All it would have taken was creating a cross body circuit (normally from hand to hand across the heart) at any point and BOOM, dead computer enthusiast.

The lesson here is that when people who work with electricity/electrical things for a living start telling you to STOP DOING SOMETHING DUMB, heed their warning or possibly end up flash fried.

well i dont have those usb ports in the front of my pc, i removed those way back when i first got the case, because i didn't need the extra usbs.

i wrote a letter to the comp of my case. i hope they write back because i'm thinking of getting a new case becasue this just a pain in my ass. this is what i wrote to them........

i need tech support for Mesh Case 7105. The front of the case carries electrical charges to the mobo. There is something messed up with your case it is not grounded with the rest of it. Only when the front of the case is connected do i get electrical shocks and the pc restarts. I want to hear from someone ASAP because this is very dangerous and is a fire hazord. And if it hasn't already, my hardware is going to get screwed up.

I just told you how to troubleshoot your problem. Contacting the manufacturer isn't going to get you squat. Most likely they'll just tell you the same thing I did. Try following the advice you came here seeking, instead of just reading and ignoring... I'm done trying to help you now. Try some reading comprehension and being a little less lazy next time.

no one asked you to keep helping. and i tried to call them but they did not answer their phones, so i was left with no choice but to email.

and i have been doing everything people have told me to try, i can't help it if it works or not. geez :(

there might be a part of that LCD touching the case behind it, which might then travel to the front face plate, causing the front plate to become live. every time you touch the front face something shorts, causing your pc to shut down or restart.

EDIT: sorry if this has already been mentioned. i didnt realize i was only reading the 4th page when i posted this, so theres probably info like this on the 5th page, which i didnt get a chance to look at.

With the static problems you're mentioning on the other thread, i really think you ought to investigate the soundcard angle. for a quick check try just this with the soundcard out of the system... Then you can troubleshoot the front/etc from there

its not the sound card, what i think was wrong with the sound card was when i had teh front of the case grounded, that wire was sending electricity to the whole pc, and my sound card was getting to much of a charge causing static, or crackling noises. The case comp wrote back saying that the front of the case is normaly not grounded with the rest, and that its not a defect. At the moment i'm just leaving the cover of the case off becasue its the only way

Did you ever check the ground on the outlet?

Replace the PSU?

i checked the ground i even switch them around got new cords. I might ask someone to let me borrow there psu to try and see if its my psu.

The ground on the wall outlet, not the cord going to the outlet. The wires on the other side...

I have seen faulty grounds on wall outlets, as well as 3 prong outlets with only 2 cables connected (IE no ground). You would need some equipment to test the ground (circtuit tester, multimeter, or some surge protectors will show ground faults).

Or alternatively, he could drag his computer over to another socket (preferrably in another house).

However, how did the socket->front - cable help if the socket doesn't have a good ground?
