i've seen people on the [H] offering up unused xbox live trials, so i figured i might as well ask...

does anyone have one of those 10day passes that they didn't (or won't) use?

i have it installed, but am waiting for my box to arrive from amazon to get my CD key and start chopping! it'll be here in a day or two but the login screen is taunting me!

How do you have it installed if you dont have a cd key?

you can install the game using the CDs (for example: a friend's copy)... but unless your friend bought the deluxe-o version, he won't have a spare trial pass.

(and P.S. i want it more, and already have it installed.) ;)

All retail copies contain the 10 day pass now. I think for a couple months now.
 
Right, if he installed from his friend's CDs (since we know nobody downloads games... (although I downloaded CoH directly from the publishers FTP server with a referral...)), his friend most likely used the trial pass for himself. Who wouldn't?
 
no all coppies are 1 mounth free, and when you install the game you dont have to put in the cd key, cd key is only for your free mounth trial... not 10 day trial, who told u that bullshit?

The CD key thats actually on the CD is for the free month, there's an additional insert that has another key on it that is good for a 10 day trial.

Just wanted to back him up on this. My box and another friend's box (non-CE) both came with the code to play for the first month free/pay for eternity and an additional 10-day trial key. However, I have heard of some non-CE boxes that didn't have the trial included inside. Someone in another thread pointed out that those may be the older copies that are still being distributed.

This is untrue. I bought the retail version (not CE), and I did not recieve a 10 day pass.

In addition, the open beta can be downloaded and then just patched up to retail. SO you do not infact need to have the retail cds to be able to install the game.

I bought a non-CE copy, retail and mine came with the 10-day pass....
 
I think my box has a gold sticker on the outside that says it has the 10 day included. It's at home, so I can't be certain.
 
There has also been cases where people who bought the retail version got CE cd -keys. Happened to a good friend of mine. Everytime he creates a character they have a CE pet.
 
the 10 day has only been coming in standard copies now... people that bought the standard version a few months ago never got the 10day thing
