2405FPW out of stock

hey guys ordered mine on tuesday the 12th and it shipped out already. That was really fast. My estimated ship date was the 29th.

anyone who ordered it on the 12th, whats ur status???


For people who received their monitor already, After the monitor shipped out, how long did it take for to recieve it?
 
im noticing that alot of you guys are getting cheaper than $1199 as advertised price, can someone telll me exactly how and what price i could get one for? i am badly wanting to upgrade my 20.1" Viewsonic
 
Dell must have gotten a huge shipment of the 2405s in. On their 'site the expected ship time has dropped from 3+ weeks to 1-2 weeks.
 
Just checked my status and it shows shipped. BTW my order was placed on March 30th and had an estimated arrival April 8th. Finally I should be getting in next week. :D

Are these Emails Dell is sending you?
I ordered mine through my company so I expect the hardware purchaser is getting these emails instead of me, cause I ordered mine on April 10th and the status hasn't moved from "in production" and "Your order has been received and entered into Dell's Order Management System." on Del''s site. :mad:

Give Dell a call and see if it still hasn't shipped out yet. Maybe they just forgot to update your order. I can't possibly see why yours hasn't shipped, and all of the others have.
 
On the phone with the Dell status # 1-800-433-9014.and it says it's "In Production" in the "build stage" with an expected shipping date of April 29th. Is there any way I can talk to a real person without going through a bunch of hoops or waiting on hold for hours? If so who would be the best person to call? I've also emailed Jennifer Wilder but I guess she'll be out until Monday. This has me a bit worried now :( .

Give Jennifer time to respond on Monday. Nothing is gonna happen till then anyway. My monitor shipped on Friday, but based on the tracking #, I don't think UPS will actually begin to move it until Monday night. If you are really itching to find out something, try Dell chat. Maybe they can look into it faster (but I doubt it).

mine is the same thing.....i got the tracking # but it wont start moving till moday
 
Never buy anything form Dell for list. A bunch of us got it for $750/$760 about a month ago. They were going for $899 or so last week. If in doubt, at least wait for a 25% off coupon that comes out quite frequently.

well im thinking about ordering at the $999 price through the biz section, which comes to like $1107 after taxes and shipping. but imma call dell today and talk to someone about it, i want it really bad, but i dont want to be the only person that pays over a grand for it, lol. i just dont want to wait too long then have to pay $1199 +tax+shipping for that damn thing. any suggestions? i am selling my 20.1" in a couple days so i cant wait very long for a coupon... :(
 
I'm getting really frustrated with Dell... Ordered 2 2405 exactly one month ago, and the estimated ship date has always been about a week from the current week.. just with every passing day the ship date get's pushed back and back. Right now it's 4/26 and so on... Ordered it on the Dell Austria page back when it was 4-6 days estimated. Oh well, my first and probably last Dell order for a long time.
 
blah, just called them and they told me the 31rst of may (belgium) this is seriously annoying. i'm going to start looking for an alternative.
 
Got my 2 yesterday, god they are awsome. Ordered mine on the 29th of March, got them on them on the 19 of April. Having them side by side for a resolution of 3840x1200 is bad ass. Except for the fact Windows freezes on the first boot but if I hit the reset button, all is fine. Oh well, reinstall later.
 
I also received my 2405 yesterday. When I first got a 2005fpw, I really didn't think it looked so big (especially compared to my 21" CRT). It was still a nice monitor though. However, after setting up the 2405, the first thing you realize is how big it really is. It's like comparing a 17" CRT to a 21" CRT. I've read other posts where people talk about not wanting to spend almost double the cash for "just a few inches more space", but it sure seems like you are getting a whole lot more than that. The quality (viewing and color rendering) also seems a bit better than the 2005 as well.
 
Got mine last night as well. Ordered on April 13 and got it on April 19 not a bad turn around.
oh yeah btw awesome monitor.
 
Mine's been "In Transit to Local Carrier" for almost two days now. I've ordered tons of stuff from Dell and have never been "In Transit" this long. I wonder what the hold up is.

same thing with me man, i feel ya... the fecker better already be at the local carrier, hopefully dell is just being slow updating with tracking
 
In transit as of yesterday as well, I ordered the 12th and got notification of shipment a few days after others who ordered the same day, a few people who ordered within the last week already have a tracking number... Does Dell have different stocking warehouses I wonder or are they giving us refurbs or something. I just hope everything is ok with my monitor after all this time of waiting.

what would even remotely make you think that they are sending us refurbs? lol


anyways going on the 4th day of being in transit, this is fucking pathetic, starting to get pissed off, im calling dell today and complaining.
 
I've never delt with Dell before but with some of the things I've read about them I wouldn't put it past them to sell us exchanges and refurbs "as new". It's just strange to me that people who ordered after me have already recieved their monitors, like you I'm still waiting on my 4th day of in transit status with no other information provided. I wonder how Dell dole's out the monitors if they all come from one warehouse? Obviously it's not first come first serve.

Relax :) Dell doesn't ship out of one warehouse. They have many, in fact. I ordered in Atlanta, and mine shipped out of Marietta, GA. Marietta is less than 20 miles from here, so my monitor got here the day after Dell sent it out.

when you ordered, how long was it before you got notcie of your ORDER, not shipping? I ordered yesterday, and still no email.
 
I'm still stuck in "In Transit" too and I've been that way since very early morning on the 19th. I'm attempting a live chat to see if they can tell me what the holdup is, but I'm sure I'll just be fed the standard line about how my item has an expected delivery date between May 8th and 10th.

Edit: Well, wonders never cease! I used the live chat and was told that my package had shipped via Airborne on the 19th and she gave me the tracking number. It's scheduled to arrive today! Apparently their site is just slow to update or something. If you're stuck "In Transit," it might be worthwhile to do a live chat to see if yours has actually shipped or not.
 
I've tried the live chat a few times (over the course of a few days actually) and it never works for me, it always says something like the team is out of service or that I've been disconnected by an agent then throws me at a survey asking me my opinion of the service...

edit again: got a DHL shipping number this time, but DHL is a service I'm not familiar with. Do they transfer the package to Fedex or UPS or something? Because I've never seen a DHL truck here nor anywhere before.. Also, it left Utah at 2am this morning so I most likely won't recieve it until sometime in the middle of next week :(

DHL is older than either FedEx or UPS. It's a big international shipper based in Germany, and is commonly used by government agencies. They recently bought out Airbourne Express (which Dell had a prior relationship with), so they're becoming more common for domestic shipment as well.

Is ur name Smith? U've been calling my office every 10 min for the past few days :D j/k, DHL could be surprisingly fast, and their web-tracking service leaves a lot of room for improvement ;)
 
Yeah, I spoke with them over the phone, no arrival estimate and it doesn't display any info for recipient so I'm a bit concerned if they can even deliver to me but their customer support is friendly and has said they will call me back with progress updates. I recieved another package that looked like it was used as a football from UPS again so I'm willing to try a different carrier for my expencive monitor :D
 
Monitor showed up today. No dead pixels. All I can say is Wow! This is the most amazing monitor I've ever seen. I can't believe I got it for only $899.
 
mine just showed up today, no dead pixels, no scratches. im almost speachless, one thing i can say is the pictures do this monitor NO justice at all, this is definately something you have to see in person, this thing is just FECKING HUGE! and thats comming from a 20.1". thinking about starting a new thread showing all the box pictures and some detail...

Just got mine today, this thing is amazing. I don't know what to say! I see no dead pixels, none with dead pixel buddy anyways. The colors are much more rich and vibrant than my old Samsung, brightness isn't too bright in my dim room at 25. I'm beyond impressed here. Now if you'll excuse me I need some time alone with my new monitor :D
 
just got mine as well *drool*, i love it. seems to have the 'tilting' issue.. no matter. i don'ty see why people were complaining about the colors and brightness. it's great with the factory presets (or maybe i'm color blind)
 
Damn guys, I ordered mine and picked it up the next day at a (semi) local UPS. ;) Funny thing was, the representitive said she could give me free shipping but because of the incredible deal i was getting, could not make it overnight or 2 day. So she told me that in addition, since this monitor is in such high demand that it wouldn't even be shipped for 2 weeks, then about 4-5 business days to recieve it...Lol! I picked it up the next day!! I was so flippin happy :D
 
All you guys ravings don't even come close to just how utterly fantastic this thing is. Daammmmnnnnnnn. :eek:
