Bought these two for the car after returning VM/400. Having trouble with getting the clock above 800MHz. It keeps defaulting back to x6 regardless of what I set the multiplier to; fsb can be pumped no prob. this sucks. bios revision 1012, going to try uber 1013 tomorrow after i borrow a floppy drive from somebody.
crystal cpuid and cpumsr crash when they try to change the multiplier. i believe this has to do with the bios having two registers turned off. please tell me this is fixed in 1013... i asked asus if they could make the VM/400 support mobile chips but they refused.
I'm new to the nforce2 chipset, so i'm at a loss here, i'm an intel guy but mobile bartons attracted me for vehicle usage. thanks a whole lot for helping out, if you need any more info about my system (kingston pc3200 valueram 512, gf2mx ) please ask, i'll be on about 9pm pst on the 31st to respond to posts.
