First off - if you're going to complain about dead pixels (or anything else like that), kindly, gtfo. There are other threads for that.

Now that that's out of the way....I've heard a lot of rumours about a psp with a hard drive comming in the next few months...and other sorts of really cool sounding accessories (like a keyboard...and firmware upgrades)

Are there any websites completely devoted to this news (and any other news about the system & its games)?

And has anyone tried hooking a keyboard up to their psp, yet?

egh. I'd love to go get one, but the thought of one with a hard drive....yeah. I need to take a cold shower. haha

I dont understand what the big fuss over the PSP is? Do u guys really need to play these games when you aren't at your computer/at home?

Funny thing is, I actually use my portable game systems around the house more than anywhere else. I don't have a television in my room (nor do I want one in there), so it's nice to kick back and play a game and not be tethered to any place. I can pick it up and put it down any time I want, and don't have to tie up the Television with it.

or wait for it to boot up, or deal with the noise. Can't take the pc travelling, I'll take the laptop on vacation - but I'll still use the psp for gaming.

Not to mention every system has some great games that no other system has (with the exception of perhaps the ill-fated 3DO) :)

If you'd read over my post a little more, you'd understand that the psp actually could be a lot more than a game system...especially if they do build a model with a hard drive. not to mention it already has 802.11b connectivity...add a keyboard, and you've virtually got a PDA.

Hell, it's got a USB drive...

I'm sure someone will create a program that will allow keyboards to connect through it.

On a side note;

Does the Spiderman 2 UMD come inside the retail package? I looked at them today and didn't notice any indication that the UMD would be inside.

Because like a doctor's office, everything in my bathroom is old and has been read 5x over. But I am holding off on a PSP until a hardware revision change. Until then, my $5 keychain Tetris will keep me company in the bathroom. :D

Yep, Spiderman 2's in there. There's a little silver sticker on the box that says it.

I believe that sony is going to implement it big time into the PS3. Just like nintendo implements connectivity from the GBA SP and the GC but i think Sony will do a better job of it. With the PSP having wifi. You can use it as a wireless controller with the PS3. If the PS3 comes with wifi ability too and more than likely it will since PSP came with it. Imagine having another screen on your controller telling you secondary info your buddies cant see. Just like the SP and GC connected but with better graphics. Sony is known for innovation so i would plan on greater things than this.

I agree, I think we'll see alot out of this system once ps3 hits. They'll def. be doing all sorts of connectivity with both systems.

ill be using mine on my bands summer tour...

although, i doubt itll survive the 6-8 hour long drives from show to show, but hey, i can always get a back up battery, or, just bring an inverter...

ps. metal gear acid was nothing like i thought... maybe i should have read some previews... im not to fond of the card battling system

Been using me all the time since I got it. I love how I can pause a game and put it in sleep mode just to boot the system and continue playing without having to load the game back up. Hell, I find myself sitting infront of my PC or TV and playing it insted of my Consoles or PC... Wipeout is just awsome.

yeah, i agree with the memory stick & whatnot, but it's driving me insane because i'd love to see if anyone has already tried to hook up a usb HD or a usb keyboard, along with the thought of an integrated HD - ala iPod...

and it definitely looks like PSP is going to have some fun stuff you can do with it...there's a gamespot article that's saying a game company is releasing one of those "build your own adventure game" engines for the psp...i can just imagine what the community is going to be brewing up on their own for the psp, even without this software

ooo....i just want to know if current ps2 games will be able to hook up...sony would really be kicking themselves in the junk if they didn't include PS3 connectivity, though.

For instance - with current gen ps2's, you've got usb ports on them...you've got usb ports on psp's...you've got a great deal of game cross-over...what's to say that your NFL game data wouldn't be able to migrate? Or Gran Turismo 4? Or possibly games that compliment each other (didn't gamecube and GBSP do that with the pokemon series?)....it'd be a great way to get people to spend way too much money, especially if they implement a real reason to be doing that sort of thing....

(what would be really cool is when they do have game overlap between the psp and ps2....would be if you could just buy the psp game, then have access to it on both systems....really long shot, but i can dream, eh?)
