Hit a UD milestone, post it here!

Though the Statsman site seems to say differently, my local client tells me that I just past the 6 MILLION point mark! Wow! That only took three years! :D

I have to give you UD guys credit. 99% of the posts are folding related, or Moose related. You guys really have to have heart to stick in their. It just shows what a great community the [H] is!

We're the Silent Soldiers of Good.

Still hammering away...1.7 million plus points, coming up to nine years CPU time.

Keep up the good work folks!

I love to see this thread bumped! It means somebody did something awesome for the cause.

I just hit my first 1000 pts. If all goes to plan, I'll soon have over 500 systems going at my community college. (I need to put together a solid pitch for the IT manager) They just upgraded all the schools computers to P4 3.2 HT systems running 2 gigs of PC3200 each.

One good argument to use is that if they are uncomfortable with having the client on at ALL times, it can be configured to only be active in "Screen Saver" mode. In this way, it will only be active when the PC is truley unoccupied and the screensaver engaged, and turn off when the user returns to the desktop.

Of course we would rather have them going full time, but when that is not acceptable, this is the next best thing. Good Luck!

Thought I would give this thread an end of the year bump.

Just to make it legit, my current stats are:

6.5 million points
33 years computing time
Currently #3 on the Team Hard|OCP UD team standings
Currently #202 in world rankings

Have a great New Year, and to all you "UD" types out there, keep it coming!

I think the 2 above me have gotten confused with the difference between UD and F@H. United Devices is a whole different other dc program.

Bumping this thread for a variety of reasons.

1. I figured it was getting pushed WAY too far back.

2. Because I just added 4 more ghz to my efforts and wanted to call attention to it (check the sig).

3. Because I just noticed that after the last forum rebuild, there is at least two years worth of content missing from this thread! I remember starting this thread shortly after the UD project gained official approval (tacid though it was) in 2001 or 2002, as a place where the few and the proud that grind for the UD project could come and sound off. Now, the first entry seems to be in January of 2004. Too bad. There was a lot of interesting history in those first days after the Hard|Ocp UD team was born.

So, it is back to the front page for this thread! At least for a day or so. ;)

Happened sometime last week, but I hit the 7 million point mark.

Should be hitting my first 10K tonight, and thanks to some recent borging, I went from 3.6Ghz to 11.8Ghz, and within the next week should be up to 24Ghz! The next 10K should go a lot faster. It was front page adding that got me in, so keep the posts up!

I wasn't sure how much I had. So I went ahead and checked. Seems I thought I had around 36K points. I was off by a little.... factor of 10ish....

Total CPU Time (y:d:h:m:s) (Rank) 1:286:13:24:54 (# 46,690)
Points Generated (Rank) 362,789 (#29,029)
Results Returned (Rank) 1,310 (#50,380)

Yes!!!! :) :p :D

One... million... points!!!

[H]ardFolding may not show it yet, but grid.org is showing it now.

It took me 4 long years with 3 boxen (those underwent some upgrade over the years). I believe I'm one of the examples for "slow and steady". You don't need tens of GHz to achieve something great. I am definitely proud of my contribution. In case you are wondering what my "little garden" looks like:
- Athlon XP 2500+ Barton (forced replacement when the old 2000+ burned out, reason of death still unknown)
- Tualatin Celeron 1.1A @ 1.467GHz w/ 133MHz FSB
- a lowly Pentium 200MMX with 192megs RAM (running Win2K server, AD and ICS too!)
So, you don't need big GHz to do it. Every CPU counts!

yesturday I brought in over 600 points, which was a pretty big milstone to me, compared to the 200-300ppd i was doing.

I turned in my first WU early this morning!

Keep on Folding!!
