restarting 1 computer brings down the entire wireless network!

i have my desktop connected to my netgear 802.11g wireless network with a netgear adapter, and a laptop hooked up to the router with a ethernet cable. Everytime when i turn the desktop off and then back on, i completely lose connection on both computers, and must reset the router to get things running again. plz help!

Ok, so let me get this straight, you are using a wireless router without any sort of switch/hub, correct? Is your "hub" your pc (1 incoming ethernet, 1 outgoing?) If so, that is probably part of the problem, try getting a small switch and plugging the router into that and see if that helps.

Sorry, its 2:35AM and I am only thinking at about 20% right now hehe.

Check and make sure your wireless is set to Infrastructure, not Ad Hoc.
