About a hour or so in the game it just freezes, cant get out of it so i have to press the restart button....anyone know what the problem is?

Lol, I was getting worried. We had gone a while without seeing a WoW thread from you.

Are the freezes you are talking about coming while you are in major cities? If so, i could just be lag. I've had to wait as long as a couple of minutes to let the lag die down.

2 reasons.

1) You have the graphics set too high.

2) There is known lag in some places, especially in Ironforge. It is supposed to subside after a few seconds or in some cases after a minute or two. There is known lag in the Ironforge auction house.

haha ya ive been asking alot sorry. anyways ya it just freezes, a couple of times it freezes with gree dots all over my screen, how can i tone down the graphics if there isnt a options menu in the game? thanks guys for all of your help haha

I had this problem with my old computer, the game would just hard lock, couldnt do anything but turn it off. Got rid of my overclock on my processor ( 2500 to a 3200 ) and it stopped.

Esc to access menu - video options

Lag in town in normal, sometimes it can last a while.
Hard locks are rare, and suggest a hardware problem

lol are you serious? mines overclocked to a 3200 too......hm.....i guess ill do that and see what happens, i was just playing and everything stopped and my monitr shut off haha. if it keeps freezing after the overclock has been off ill come back baha

Is it just happening in WoW or other games also? Video lock ups and distortion on screen are signs of a dying video card....it happened to my 4200ti a year ago I had to RMA it.

Lock ups and video distortion are a sign of many potential issues. Things to check (do them one at a time to isolate the problem):

CPU: STOP OVERCLOCKING. This should be the first thing you do when you are having stability issues with anything.
Video Card: Stop any GPU/VidMem overclocking you may be doing. Make sure you have the latest STABLE drivers for your card. Check and see if there are any beta drivers known to fix the issue you are having (be aware that they may break other things in the process...).
Memory: Relax timings if you have them jumped up. Run a tester like MemTestx86 or something to check it out.
Power Supply: High enough wattage for everything you are running? Make sure that it outputs stable power on the 12V and 5V rails.
System In general: Make sure that all drivers are up to date. Make sure that the BIOS on the motherboard is the latest available. Make sure that you have all current patches and updates for your OS. Run antivirus, anti-spyware and disk utilities (chkdsk or similar and defrag).

So your OC wasn't stable? Or is it just that WoW has problems with OC'ed machines for some odd reason?

It could be WoW that has trouble with OC. I had a friend who was having the same problem, he under clocked his processor and now it is fine.
