X800 XL

wow!! a little over priced considering all the reviews said it was gonna go for around $300 retail.. that sux.. maybe jus the demand right now..

they also have the X850's also...

anybody buy from them?..

I bought my X800 XT PE from them, had a slight problem, but it was resolved via next day air the same night I called at 8PM to tell them... so it got resolved quickly.

That's actually the best price I've seen so far for an instock XL. Still overpriced, but there is no guarantee that supply will meet the demand.

i rather wait a couple of weeks and save $150

How do you know that you will be able to save $150 in a couple of weeks? is that when the card is supposed to hit the shelves? I am desperately trying to save up for one of these.

AllStarShop.com is notorious for outrageous gouging...I recall they had X800XT PE's on their site for months at $999.

Sapphire X800 XL

Here is another sighting at Zipzoomfly. $499. Yikes. I hope they start showing up in volume soon. I was thinking of going nforce4 and one of these too, but not for more than the $300 that was quoted.

People seem to forget you can get an X800 XT for that price that will perform much better. I bet prices will drop soon, volume production only just started on the XL's.

By the time you actually save up for one of these fucking things you might as well just save a little more and get the x800xt and o/c the shit out of it. What a joke ATI is now with these video cards.

Damn.. Jonsey beat me to it.

What a joke ATI is? Or what a joke these retards that overpay for these cards are? Come on.... if no one paid for these fucking things at these outrageous prices, vendors would stop pulling this shit. Sure they want to make a profit, but they can't make a profit if no one is buying. My opinion... fuck the vendors. I can hold on to my 9700 a little longer and save an assload of cash.

XL at an XT price. There's great deal! Stupid MFs.

The appeal of that card is that it's supposed to be retailing for $300. Me want. Too bad that they are so rare now, but hopefully stock will increase. Hopefully.

If anyone actually did buy that over an x800xt then I would have to slap them with a trout.

I pre-ordered a BBA X800XL from ATI for $246 shipped. There is no way i'd pay the price those other sites are wanting just because they are some of the first to get them in stock.

I also pre-ordered an X850XT PE for $485 shipped.

I'm not going to pay much over MSRP for a video card. I dont care how fast it is.

the hsf on those things look really cheap also, like the 9800 pros. On an high end card like that, you'd expect at least a cooler equivalent to that of the x800 pro's and xt's.

The card runs cooler because of being 110nm instead of 130nm.

I thought these x800XL's were supposed to be comparable in features to the XTPE? I thought that the XL was supposed to have the same number of pixel and vertex pipes as the 6800GT, same MB's of memory, and be $100 less than a GT. Am i mistaken? what does the XT,PE have over the XL?

The XT PE has faster clocks and is faster overall than the GT and the XL

It has all the pixel pipes and vertex engines, but runs 400MHz core, 490MHz memory where the XT is 500/500 and the PE is 520/565. It doesn't have the Rage Theatre chip by default, like the XT and PE cards, but Power Color is supposedly offering a card with the chip. Lastly, it is made on a 110nm budget process that doesn't use low-k. However, given the shrink and lower clock speeds, this card does not require an external power connection to run.

Oh, and you get about the same performance as a 6800GT for about ~$100 less...that assuming supply gets up to demand levels so that vendors actually have to compete and offer the card at MSRP.

Well, since it is only a PCI-Express card for now, even if they do jack up the price, it can compete with the 6800GT PCI-Express, because the cheapest I've seen it is probably about $475 - and thats IF you can find it in stock.

.

What is the Rage Theater Chip? why is it important?

assuming that they are essentially the same as x800pros and x800xts, just with differrent pipelines and clock speeds, they'll OC like nothing else. i've gotten my x800pro's core up to 570 without artifacting. i love it

Did anyone get one from the pre-order yet? (From ATI's website) I called ATI's customer service and they said it might ship in three weeks. (My order that is)

I also called them today, and they didn't have a clue. They told me to call back in a few weeks. :(

I heard a few got on some early coupon deals, but it looks like the majority of X800XL cards are selling at the $425 - $499 pricepoint. Until they drop to the $300 point like you got it for, the 6800GT is still a no brainer.

Just trying to heads up ppl so they don't get sucked into the hype of buying a $300 card for $450-$500 :)

I doubt that you have anything yet though. You most likely have a pre-order from ATI like several of the rest of us do. I have an X800XL and an X850XT PE on pre-order and it may be a while before ither ships.

You can't really consider a pre-order getting something until it ships because their free to cancel your order at any time if ATI can't supply the demand just like they did with the X800XT PE here a few months ago.

Do you kill people for a living burningrave? Holy crap you're loaded. :p

lol, whats great is the XL has a $299 price point

at this point, no pun intended, if volume doesnt pick up im just gonna get a 6800GT...however...does anyone know when volume shipping will pick up?

Both prices were too good to pass up so i pre-ordered both. I'll keep the X800XL if my X850XT PE never actually ships (X800XT PE horror stories) and if my X850XT PE ships from Chumbo around the middle of Feb like its suppost to then i'll sell the X800XL for a profit.

I'll be pretty damn pissed at ATI if neither one of them ship though and i'm stuck with a PCI-E board and no video card.
