i don't think these are typical scores for a system of my build..

i have an asus a8v deluxe
amd athlon 64 3400+ socket 939
1 GB mushkin basic green ram in dual channel mode
evga geforce 6800 128 mb

3dmark01: 16,000ish
3dmark03: 8,000ish

I believe i should be getting at least 19k in 01.. and probably in the 9k range for 03..and yes, i did set the settings to HIGH performance in the driver panel. not sure what's wrong..

for a 6800 at stock speeds, that does seem a bit low. Try different drivers, and/or make sure AA and AF are off

Timings?
7.2Krpm HD, or higher?
New video card with old drivers?

(Attempted softmod?)

yep, 7200 rpm seagate ide drive here.

and no, i'm using the latest drivers from the nvidia site..haven't attempted softmod..YET

Have you tried auto detect settings of the card through coolbits??? perhaps it's just an average performer??? or
rather than the latest drivers....try the reference drivers that came with the card and see if there's any improvement/ loss in marks...evga cards can be a little tempermental at times, run dc3 first though to remove old driver set...good luck

well, i reinstalled the drivers (not the reference one from evga) and i got a higher score on 01...17,800, but i think it's still underperforming.

You said 1GB of some green ram... what kinda RAM, 2700, 3200? What... Also , that and Timings will make a HUGE difference in 01... 03 is all videocard.

pc 3200. 2.5-4-4-7

i think i figured out the problem..my memory is clocked too low. i set it to ddr 400 (memory ratio to cpu fsb 2:1) and it would show clocked at 300 mhz on CPU-Z. ahh...anyone with an a8v-deluxe know how to fix this?

I'm looking for the same answers I recently built a computer using A8V deluxe and man what a PITA using corsair pc3200 matched 512mb sticks for Dual channel and I get blue screened but when I turn it down to pc 2700 speeds I am fine... Memtest86+ does not error on either setting when left to run for 12 hours each.

For '01 your timings are HORRID... x-4-4-7.. if you could even close that down to 2-3-3 You'd get about a ~600 point boost (simply cause of memory reading) atleast in my experience.. Is default or by SPD?

Also make sure your RAM is running in sync with your HT Bus -- basically running it 1:1 @ 200MHz, and making sure your HT bus is 200x5 (default I think).

Hrm. Yep, something's up alright. I got 11127 this latest time in 3dMark03.

Any chance that chipset is susceptible to the FSB/memory ratio thing like these nForce boards? Even though I lowered my CPU from 200x12.5 to 182x12.5, my score made quite the jump when I got things 1:1 (more importantly though, got rid of that stupid jerkiness.) With your system, you should be blowing my scores out of the water.

EDIT: Oops, he said to 1:1 also. Meh, I read it twice and missed it each time somehow. Sorry. Anyway, I have to agree.

EDIT2: Bah, crap, ignore that. I thought you said your card had the pipelines unlocked too. In that case, the scores aren't really comparable... *sigh* This is what happens when you stay up late drinking too much mountain dew staring at installation screens.

so do you mean 200 mhz effective speed? or 100?

200x2 eg, DDR400, not 100x2 (eg DDR200)

Fast = better d-: Just, the point here is to synchronize the video and the memory to the best extent possible to reduce latencies where one has to wait for the other.
