Excellent price on 6800, 6800GT, and 6800U

Holy moly, those prices ARE awesome.

You might wanna post this in the HotDeals section as well!!!!

yeah, these should be in [H]ot Deals, if i didnt have my GT already id be all over this...

Ya know, I didn't even noticed there was a HOT DEALS section here. I'll go a head and repost it there. :)

jeebus. do you guys think i should sell my bfg 6800OC and get the evga 6800GT?

I think the most i could sell it for would be 250.. so that would make it 70 bucks to upgrade. and thats IF i could sell it for that much (although it does do 16/6 without a problem...)

DAMN good deal, I wish it was PCI-e I'd buy 2 of them right away.

Micro Center cracks me up. They overcharge on random useless things like mousepads but they are gold on stuff like this. I would also give them a thumbs up as being legit. I shop there often. :D

Does their 6800GTs use the 1.6ns memory or the 2.0ns memory?

I guess it doesnt really matter, anything is a step up from a ti4600 or 5600 at this point. Sucks to have a ferrari with 14" honda rims.... :p

looks like i get to do a pricematch... i bought mine less than a week ago for $348 from them

I wish their website let you check inventory like CompUSA does. I've got a MicroCenter maybe a half hour or so drive from here but I'd rather not run over there unless what I want is in stock. Awesome prices though!

I called them, and the lady couldnt tell me for sure they had any in stock. She said it usually ships in 1-3 days, like the website says. And that it is their best availability, but she couldnt tell me for sure they had any in stock.

elec have you thought about picking up a phone.

Nah, too lazy! Though I figure if I did buy from them, I should do it at the store. Gotta pay tax anyway, might as well save on the shipping and have the card sooner :)

Not enough reviews and 3 of them complained about service from a local store. I know, buyer beware, but I'll let the 600-lb gorilla known as Visa do my complaining for me if I get dicked around.

Oh I know its not a posititve that they arent good. Just giving people a heads up.. Ive bought some "great deal" before, and they products wasnt in stock. Took weeks to get them to take the hold off my funds after I cancelled the order. The prices are very good, and very lower than anyone elses. Just makes me want to be careful.

Went ahead and ordered the 6800GT. Total with two day shipping $328. Now lets just hope it's here in two days. Have a fully built rig with no video. Was going to get the Ultra off ebay, but something didn't smell right about the seller.

hey, can you return video cards to best buy a few days after purchase, i got a bfg 6800 OC and for a few more i could get this GT if i could return it

You should be able to return it to best buy no problem. As long as you have all the parts and manuals/paperwork you'll be fine.

yeah i have all that, i would much prefer a better vid card for a little more money, like very little more

If wipedout gets his soon, I may have to jump on this as well =D

From what I've heard, they're all on backorder right now on the site even though it still shows that it's in stock. There's supposedly a bunch in stock at the outlets and they prices are the same.

Went to the local Microcenter and got a 6800NU. When I got there late yesterday afternoon, all the GTs were gone -- sold out through the web... lol They had 2 NUs left, while I'm a bit bummed about not finding a GT, the NU is, well, a vast upgrade from my other box's GF3. :D

Unlocked the other 4+1 pipes, ran doom 3, no artifact. I am happy. Didn't really bother o/cing it -- from what I've read, the card isn't a good ocer and that the little bit of o/c u do w/ it really doesn't translate much into real-world usage.

a few note on this one: no games bundled. zero, zip. The card is single slot, and surprisingly quiet. It's also not that warm, running at 65 degrees C under load. I'm very pleasantly surprised by it! Overall, it's an excellent card for $250.

a little more info on Microcenter: it's a retail chain selling computer equipments, the storefront itself is quite big(not like a Fry's, but almost like a circuit city). The only reason I don't buy from them very often is because their goods usually aren't bleeding-edge, and their prices, with tax added, usually isn't all that fantastic. The few items that I bought from them and the few that I decided to return -- I have no problems with returning them. It's by no means a two-bit mom and pap drive-by-midnight operation.

cheers,

Yass

That's about right... I picked up my 6800 used for $240 with the upfront knowledge that it could do 16x1,6. I think that was a great deal. $250 should be no problem.

And a bit about Microcenter; You can stumble on some great deals there. They are "return friendly". I think as computer parts store fronts go, they are bested only by Fry's. I have not, however, made any online purchases with them.

When did you place your order?

I just picked up the 6800NU because it was all they had left. Can't complain though. It's fast enough for me, and the price was great.

Now, I just need to figure out how to unlock the extra pipelines.

just got back from the microcenter in marietta, they had 7 in stock, well 6 now :D

and best buy has one extra 6800 OC

well it appears that I got backordered so I just canceled the order. Good deal on a card but I can't wait more than two weeks. Guess I'll have to go another route. Talked with Customer care and they said they got more orders than expected. They didn't put a quanity limit on it so people were buying bunches of them online to sell for a profit on ebay. Oh well.
