The keyboard and mouse are painted. (Another thread here covers it)

See that SGI case to the left of the rack? Brand new, and the bezel is bubble wrapped on top. I cant use it, and it is for sale as is a new set of full extension rails for a 19" rack. 130 and they are yours.

specs... man, do I have to?

#1 The top is a dual LV 1.6 xeons on a Asus PCDL running overclocked @ 2.8GHz ea. Gig of ram, 60 gig and a modified Koolance cooling system (display readout on the front as you can see) It pretty much just folds 4 WUs 24/7
#2 is a utility webserver 1.8 P4, 512, 80 gig.. nothing special
#3 is my FTP/File server 1800+ on a soyo dragon+, 512megs, 40 gig boot, Promise SX4000 raid controller and 4 x 200 gig Maxtors in raid 5 for the data.
#4 is my personal webserver/file server. Old asus 815 board,1Ghz, 512 megs, 40 gig boot and 80 gig for personal data
#5 is multi sites, email server, game server at times P4 1.8 and a gig of ram..

Gigabit lan everywhere, and a SonicWALL and a Netscreen firewalls providing protection on both lines

Stress, Thats a pretty pimp network.

I'll reserve this spot for tomorrow!

I haven't built my new desk & system yet for home, and my current desk is nothing much exciting but here it is:
Desktop:
AMD XP 1800+
512mb ram
ATI AIW 9600 Pro
Laptop:
Dell Latitude LS
Pentium 3 400mHz
256mb ram

Working on replacing this all with a custom corner unit desk, and a new AMD 64 based system. Pics to follow as bank account allows.

My work desk is a lil nicer although my computers are old and slow (they at least give me an aeron chair)

This is why i enjoy this forum...people can spot anything in a picture and call you out on it, including GHOSTS. haha

The strange glow is from the uv reactive cables. My camera picked up the reflection on the picture (glass).

Anyway, has anybody thought about a new thread dedicated to posting pics of your work (office) workstation. Or should this thread be all inclusive. doesnt really matter ... i was just wondering

I'll post new pics when I get home and set up my new LCD. Now I won't have any more stupid beige lcds, and will have triple black lcds (2x 17" and 1x 15")

is cat6 crossover?? i have a orange one :)

CAT6 just describes the type of wire. They can be made into straight-thru or crossover depending on the color pattern assembled. Color generally is non-determining of type.

CAT6 cables have the same wiring pattern as CAT5 and 5e cables. The difference is that CAT6 cable is manufactured and tested to tighter specifications that pushes its bandwidth to 400MHz to provide more performance margin for gigabit Ethernet applications.

Wiring patterns can be seen here.

to the right of my computer, this is where my PCgamer issues and max pcs are, along with dvds. I just started buying dvd's, and I want to get a pretty decent sized collection going. so far i got some of my favorite horror and gangster movies :D

how much was that monitor stand? also, can it rotate the LCDs?

I paid $315 for it. It is the grommet-mount model M7 from Humanscale. The LCDs do rotate. Had to cut holes in the desk to accommodate the base.

is cat6 required for gigabit ethernet or is it just recommended?

My new setup. Comp on the left is the old rig and new rig is one on the right. The desk was homemade.
