Strap the stock cooler back on your card and send it to me and I'll do the mods for you if you want and just use the stock cooler to boot up and check the voltage. Don't worry, setting it to something like 1.85v with teh stock cooler isnt going to damage it to turn on the comp.....the load temp will just skyrocket. ;)

PM me if you're interested in having the work done. as I've got all 4 mods done to my XT-PE and it's goin' great. :cool:

I havent modded the x800xtpe.

Will i need to get better cooling for it if its having 1.85v going throw it ????
 
Well, got vapochills installed (after RMA'ing one of the chillcontrols) and i'm stuck at 219 x 12 due to RAM problems, anyone know of any fast registered ram? Highest I can find is PC3200

Sorry bro, I haven't seen a lot for "fast" ECC memory.....kinda one of the things you're gonna have to learn to live with if you're using a setup that's meant for workstation or server use...and overclocking it to this extent.....it's not entirely what it's built for.....and many manufacturers realise that and aren't necessarily in the market for things like PC4400 ECC memory....the market just isn't there.

Ill have to ask when mods are done PLEASE also add better cooling at the same time and ill sort the BILL out

Be sure that when the time draws nearer what kind of cooling you're thinking of.....whether it be regular watercooling, or even something as simple as an ATI4 Silencer. When the time rolls around and your card shows up I'll be sure to take my time with the mods and test it out thouroughly.....but lets not worry about all that quite yet, we can start deciding between us what you want to do for cooling after xmas before the card gets sent over.

Seeing as we've already got this going via PMs I wanna take the conversation to a close here for the sake of cleanliness. The ATI4 will be a lot better then teh stock cooler on the load temps.....and it pretty much is the best way to go...short of watercooling.
 
Here's a new one for you Corny :D

I've been so busy for the past few days (and haven't used my machine at all) that my reservior has cooled down enough for me to clock my CPU a bit higher and yield the following results. I don't think I can do any better than this without some sort of TEC though, but it gets me up another notch in the rankings. I may give it another go in the new year but chances are I'll be selling off these parts in the near future to get something newer and faster. We'll see then...

Just got this chip a couple days ago, messing around with a new Winnie 3000+ on stock OEM cooler. Don't know if this is top 10, but pretty good score none the less on a 3000+

Look at his dram ratio.....3:4.....

236 x 4 = 944 / 3 = 314.66MHz
 
When I do mine it says 258 for the fsb and 1033 for the buss speed and memory at 1\1,isnt 1\1 higher then 3\4?

No, 1:1 is faster or "higher" then 3:2 or 5:4....but not 3:4. You're just getting it a little backwards....essentially you can look at it like this, when the number before the colon is bigger then the second number, the memory will be running slower then your FSB....and then you simply have to do a quick calculation to see what the exact speed will be. In the same sense, if the first number is smaller then the second one then the memory will be running higher then your FSB.....and again, some simple math might come into play to figure out what the clock is/would be.

What you do is take your FSB, multiply it by the second number (the "4" in 3:4), and then divide the product by the first number (the "3" in 3:4).

True, and the fact that most systems today dont offer any asynchronous dram ratios in which the memory is running at a higher frequency then the system bus.

VERY nice 3000+ you've got there......and with your current cooling it's all that much more impressive.....got any other benchies you've ran? If so get on over to the ORB or ARC and see if you chime in with the rest of us. ;)
 
Well, my ultra powerful GF2 GTS didn't quite get me into the ORB or ARC, but maybe it won't hurt me too much here

Was hoping for 3.0Ghz, but 2.65 is the highest I could get while being prime stable for 24hrs. I got a water cooling setup for this chip, and then I found out that it runs very cool, what a waste of money... :mad:
 
Thx for the score, but I honestly haven't seen a whole lot of 3200+'s hitting 3GHz on regular water cooling. Not saying it can't be or hasnt been done...but you maybe should have tried air cooling first and then asked around to see if it would be worth the cash for h2O.

Good stuff none-the-less.
 
Wow, nice time James.....I know you're not the cheatin' type.....but I would ask you to re-run that and take the pic where everyone else has been.....just because it's easy as hell to fake results on that screen, and although I trust you, I gotta treat everyone the same right? :p

Amazing how much the extra RAM bandwidth helps in this bench.

Now I gotta mess around some more with my system because my current stumbling block is the CPU. :rolleyes:
 
Hi Cornelius, it's me again with another not-so-good overclock...

Got my hands on a 3.0C on Asus P4P800-E Deluxe, same as the board used for my previous 2.8C. I could not get past 248 FSB no matter what I did (divider, ram timing, voltage tweaks), is 875P better for OC'ing than the 865PE?

I am thinking about getting a socket 775 P4 3.2E with a DFI 875P-T for my next watercooling project after seeing some impressive results with the new prescotts. What do u think?

I myself would REALLY like to switch to a new "J" 775 P4 and the DFI 875P-T......maybe after I find out if I'm getting this Vapochill or not....cus that'd sure be fun. :D
