I have 3 choices for video cards. These all retail around the same price point, so I am wondering which one.

CHOICE 1 : X800 xt (500/500) 16 pipes, Gecube. I think 2ns ram.

CHOICE 2: Gainward Golden Sample "Goes Like Hell" 1.6ns Ram, 350/500 but garunteed to go at ultra speeds and more. Very Tempting

CHOICE 3: Gigacube X800 pro vivo : i have never done a bios flash before, but am willing. Apparently this retails with 16 pipes, dunno tho. 1.6ns ram also

well the gainward goes like hell will garuntee u a clock of 450/1200.. which is ultra extreme speeds.....

and u can activate the clocks with experttool i think..

Well, at The Hexus Review they only got 415/1235, so no, Ultra Extreme levels are NOT garunteed. However, 400/1200 IS garunteed. With this in mind, is the gainward still the best?

Gainward Golden Sample ;) Simply because its 1.6ns ram and should indeed overclock like hell :p

well i guess not at stock voltages on the core.. but 1.5volts should get to ultra extreme speeds..

Others around this forum swear by the Vivo which is simple to softmod, unlocking the extra pipes. Many have achieved XT PE speeds and beyond. According to [H]ard's last review the X850 is just building on a lead the XT PE already had. At least that's my take on it. Something to think about.

well the gs is already way past ultra speeds :) but the xt is sweet too...but it's not guranteed hehe

So the gainward GLH? Just wondering, can i get an NV5 onto the card without modding it?

Why, would you want a NV5 on a gainward golden sample? It already uses nice, custom cooling

no......it isnt......at all

well i heard some people installing he nv and got higher temps... or maybe they must've did it wrong

So is the NV5 BETTER ie. quieter if possible, but definately cooler than the Stock Dual fan Gainward?
