My 6800 ULTRA isn´t 100 % stable at anything except stock. Got a Leadtek 6800 ULTRA. Do I run it above stock soner or later I get that pausing. Sometimes it hard locks sometimes it let me continue after some seconds depending on game.

So it´s definiatly my 6800 ULTRA which don´t like anything above stock.

Standard leadtek cooling btw.

haha smae here.. but i can get my ultra to 443/1.12 from stock 425/1.1.. but still.. what i get is shit!! and i only gain 4 fps in cs:s VST :) and my memory with a puny 20mhz overclcock is stable in any game but cs:s and HL2.. even though i can run it 450/1.15 for 3dmark03 to break teh 13000 score.. but 443/1.1 is the most stable without artifacts.. i consider this a crappy overclock.. and guess wut??? stupid PNY supplied me with BS 2.0ns ram.. i wish i can still return this card and get a BFG or something..

It all depends on the quality of the components on each indidual card, I returned a PNY 6800 Ultra to Fry's Electronics last weekend cause it crashed even at the stock speeds with Doom3 and HL2, then I got another one today and I am running it fine with all my games at 425 / 1200 and this was after I said I would never get a PNY card again (aZn plyR you read the thread were I mentioned this he he he). I guess I had a change of heart and it paid off. I may tey running it faster but not sure yet.

oo so i guess the pny ultra has 1.6ns then eh.... and ur probably right about the quality of each individual card... but i am getting close to 1200.. i am applying as5 in a few minutes eheh

It depends on being lucky to get a good chip. And cooling of course. Anyway I have found part of the problem. I am apparently a very good cleaner in my apartment. Have ran it there for month only have to clean the dust filter on the card once and it wasn´t even that dirty. Now my comp is at my parents house at the moment for testing their 100 mbit broadband and it went from all clean to completely filled with dust rats in like a few weeks. It was incredible you couldn´t even see through.

But the weird thing is that temps wheren´t that bad anyway. 78 and 66. But now I am stable at stock speeds anyway. May even get back to my 420/1160 overclock which is about max this thing will perfectly stable.

Yeap, the memory on these cards is 1.6ns but my last card would not work at even 400 / 1100 and I think I can get more speed out of this one so the quality will vary from card to card . I did put in the copper heatsink I had bought from evga and it brought the temps down by about 4c and I also put AS5 paste on the gpu and memory as well to make sure the heat goes to the heatsinks. One last thing I did do was to re-solder the power molex connector pins that I noticed had almost no solder on them at all to make sure I got the proper power to the card, don't know but maybe this was part of the problem with my last card.

:p :D

I flashed bios with 1.5v mod and got 450/1.2 stable, gets high temps though so I've lain my comp on its side and put 2 80mm fans around it.... works fine untill I get watercooling :D

Stock: 425/1.1
OCd: 440/1.23 (passes self test up to 1.25)

I think it artifacts a little at 1.23 (it did at 1.235) so I may clock it down to 1.225. I'm still testing it.
The core I think can do 443 w/o artifacts. Right now it's at stock until I get the RAM sweet spot.

I'd join this discussion if I could actually find a PCI-E version to buy.

I'm still bitter about that.

Check your psu.........I never get tired to post this on "my 6800u problem" thread. It comes from experience with 3 dead psus. I settled with enermax 660w now. With watercooling my pny 6800u can bench at 475/1295 with pny stock bios 5.40.02.15.07
It ran 450/1200 24/7. 475 is max for core. The only problem was bad molex connector and it triggered those 'nvidia sentinel' power problem. After it fixed, there's is no problems at all, ran with 2 dedicated power connectors.

I hope my BFG 6800 Ultra OC has 1.6ns memory on it. Thank you Dell for a $389 deal. :D

I run mine at stock (425/1100).

The max stable core clock is about 435-440, which just isn't much of an improvement.

What really irritates me though is that the max stable memory speed is only 1.12  I don't fancy taking the HS off to check what memory I have, but I have to assumme that it's only 2.0ns. Which is annoying.

it's not 2.0ns.. my ultra can only do 1.12 awhile back.... it's usaully the thermal pads.. i took mines out and put some as5 on them.i can run @ 1200 but it's not totally stable.. but i can run perfectly at 1.16 now.. and

aZn_plyR, I have overclocked my PNY card as high as I can and have been running it and playing HL2 and Doom3 for several hours the past couple of days at 425 / 1220 it runs perfectly stable at this speed. This is the highest I can get on both core and memory, I was contemplating flashing the bios with a 1.5v modded bios but I don't want to fry my new $500 Ultra just yet.

wut psu are u on? j/w

I am running my computer with an Aspire 500W power supply, it has not given me any problems yet.

UPDATE!!!!, I flashed my PNY 6800 Ultra with the Nvidia Rev. 04 bios that I modified with 1.5v and did some overclocking until found the sweet spot and it is running happly at 440 / 1220, this is a lot better than I xpected with stock cooler (other than the Evga copper heatsink. It passed the initial test at 450 / 1220 but crashed instantly when I tried running Doom3, HL2, or 3d mark 2005, so I took it down till it finally worked at 440 / 1220.

:p :D :p
