Hey,

What is the Big Advantage of having a BFG 6800 GT vs the PNY 6800 GT? Yes, BFG does give lifetime warranty- buy PNY gives 3 year warranties (right?) and thats about the time I will upgrade anyway. And the OC part does not really matter to me because I can OC it myself.
Is the BFG cooling solution better? Is it more reliable?

I choose the BFG because it was the least expensive, and most liked card here

I got the PNY buts that cause that was the only thing available at the time.

Troll bait... keep it on topic please

Myself I went with BFG for their top notch build quality, warranty and the fact that if I have a problem ever I can speak with an american not some durka durkastani (team america joke).

BFG they are the top range 6800GT :D Lifetime waranty Overclocked out of tha blocks what more could ya want except an X800XTPE to go with it j/k :D

On my old system I had 2 different bfg 6800gt's. First one topped out at 99C load(returned) and the next one was low 80's load. But my luck just isn't too good. I ordered a Leadtek a400gt for my new system and it was bad out of the box. Hopefully it'll be back from rma soon :(

The BFG card is faster since it is overclocked out of the box. Also, BFG has better build quality than the bargain basement PNY (just take a look at the 6600GTs people were buying at CompUSA on black friday. . . )

Good God man, why do you have to keep popping up in random threads to preach about ATi cards? I don't recall the poster asking for views on anything other than the two cards listed.

On thread - you could maybe say that BFG have more confidence in their own products if they sell them with a warrantied overclock. It's not much, but it's not a bad sign.

Yea in "higher price paid for same or worse performance"

AFA performance, overclock either GT to Ultra speeds, and then it gets REALLY bad for the XT

I think you pretty much named all the differences there.

In terms of cooling, the reference cooling on the PNY actually cools a bit better than the custom cooling on the BFG. However the BFG's cooling is a bit quieter and has blue LEDs in the fans if you want something that looks cool for a window case. I heard BFG may, or already is, going back to the reference design on the 6800GT cards, not sure if that is true though.

BF, CUSA was selling 6800 NU's not 6600 gt. btw PNY is pretty pathetic.

I believe quality is the same, just BFG is slapping on their custom heatsinks/flash BIOS but otherwise, the cards originate from the same plant. I have PNY and it works just fine, and oc's to 400/1100 no problem.

Got my BFG 6800 Ultra, but cant open it til xmas. I cant wait to use it!

Ive had a PNY 4600ti card since it came out. I still am using it and never have had a problem with it. However I dont know how well PNY is doing these days.

I bought my PNY 6800 GT because I 1)wanted a 6800 GT 2) I needed one quick to use my computer, as I had sold my other video card on EBAY and as a result I bought mine from CompUSA instead of trying to get a more fancy/custom one from Newegg.
However, I do not think that PNY is "pathetic." That's a little extreme. And why do you say that anyway?

You always praise ATI cards on every thread. I just finished reading another thread where you stated that the x800 series out performs the 6800s series in 99% of the games. My god- Open your eyes. Sure ATI cards are nice but there is nothing wrong with what Nvidia is offering this generation.

This is very true. And having the fortune to own both an X800XTPE and a 6800GT, To me they BOTH are Absolutley Worth their money no questions about it ;) Just all comes down to what (YOU PREFER) and also what you can find for a descent price!~

Sorry for the offtopic, but I need to know.

Can ne1 tell me pls, how good cooling sistems do PNY make? Loud but good, loud and bad, quiet and good or quiet and bad, comparing to other, like MSI, Albatron, XFX? I newer seen a PNY GPU, google doesnt show any pix x:

I need to know, cos im buying a 6600GT, and I have choice to get a PNY or XFX atm, hoping for a MSI though (but nowhere in sight :( )

Ktnx

I chose BFG over PNY because BB did not carry PNY... But both are great videocards..

I got the pny 6800 at the bf compusa sale, for $200 its been a decent upgrade from my 9800pro. No more gamma problems, and a bit smoother with better settings in city of heroes for me. Unlocked all the pipelines no prob It seems like it oc's pretty good too, got mine at 375/795 although the coolbits detected it a bit higher. In terms of noise, i have no idea what a air cooled video card should sound like, through my foamed to hell case it doesnt seem to be too bad. The coupple video cards i've had in the last coupple years have been either passive or wc'ed.

It's like comparing a MSI X800 XT PE vs. Sapphire X800XT PE. It doesn't matter. As far as the warrenty goes, then yes the BFG is better, but as far as performance they are equal.

24/7 Tech Support?

And the performance is only equal if you overclock the PNY
