My ATI X800 Pro is flashed to the ATI X800 XT PE. A guy I know wants me to do a straight trade for his Leadtek 6800 GT. His card died, and is RMA'ing it. He said he would buy me a NV Silencer for it too.

What would you do?

That depends, first- are you getting any artifacts after the flash?
If you said "YES"
Then- trade in your card for a NEW 6800 GT with the NV5 cooler. :p
If you said NO, your card works great, AND performance like a genuine XT PE then-
DO NOT trade it for a 6800 GT

Just the way I look at it. :)

Well I havent really used it. I would loose my Swiftech MCW50 GPU Waterblock if I were to goto the 6800 GT. Only be able to cool it on air also. As for the testing for the card, I haven't really tried because I am waiting for my new WCing pump, rads. I got everything new for watercooling. Except for the video. That GPU block still fits from my ATI 9800 Pro to my ATI 9800 XT and now my ATI X800 Pro @ XT PE.

And I am happy with the card itself. I just get turned off from hearing a lot of people RMA'ing their 6800 GT's cause they fry or get this "sluttering" effect.

If I knew how to make a poll for Keep it or Trade it, I would :p

Keep it! :) He probably wants to trade it since the X800 to XT PE mod has more potential.

They fixed the stuttering issue, and I am happy with my 6800 GT. If I had the money I would buy a water cooling system and OC it to 450 Mhz Core/ 1.20 Ghz memory and raise the voltage by 1.5

You would be crazy to trade a working X800 Pro running at XT-PE speeds for a GT. Unless you have artifacts or lockups @ XT-PE speeds, don't do it unless you also get 100.00 cash!

Not only at XT-PE speeds but also don't forget about the number of pipelines he must have unlocked.

KEEP IT since u got it watercooled and eevryone knoes a x800xtPE>a 6800GT in eevrything except for doom3.. and maybe a few other games... so keep it....

Ask yourself why you want to change it? Unless the X800Pro/XT is somehow artifacting not playing games as you would like or is defectable in some other way then you aint gonna get any performance boost by going the 6800GT?< Well thats my take on it anyways :p

Ill trade you my BFG 6800GT for your card... send me a PM if you're serious.

edit, Ive also got the Innovatek GPU+Ram cooling waterblock on it.

Thanks for all the responses! I think I'm going to keep the ATI :) Not only that but I paid 450.00 Canadian which is 378.468 USD for the ATI X800 Pro Vivo off a friend :D He had no idea the Vivo's could mod :)

Looks like I'm gonna stick with ATI once again this round! Unless that extra 100 bucks is in US dollars, hahaha I'd get about 120 Canadian. Good thing the dollar is high :)
