My 9700 AIW impossible to OC?

My card cannot go even 10mhz over the core speed without getting artifacts in HL2 quite a bit. I have a Zalman HSF on it so cooling is not an issue despite fact its not water. Memory spees will go up a bit but I cant get core to move at all without sudden artifacting. Is it just hopeless to try for a performance boost?
 
I wouldn't say it's hopeless. Try a different utility. My 9700 Pro AIW will hit 401 core/ 375 mhz memory for a 3DMark run.

Try different utility to overclock it? I tried Omega, ATITool and Bios flash

I Dont think so, its 2nd time i've mounted it, I used AS5 this time. The temps hit about 43 Load which isnt bad at all especially considering my ambient temps. My core just refuses to go up :/

Yea i'm more than happy with its performance still... just a shame it wont overclock especialy with the [H] cooler I have
