I could imagine something like the Slashdot effect happening at midnight, think of all the people who are going to load up Steam all at the same time trying to play HL2. Im sure Valve has anticipated this, but what if they didnt.....
 
I'm with ya. They anticipated it, but ain't shit they can do.

Try not restarting, but if nothing happens when you double click HL2, then restart it.
 
theyre using 7,000 Mbps last i checked, with 13,000 available. they have twice that a phone call away, so its not going to be a bandwidth issue if they do go down.
 
I wasn't going to wait up....but my 3 week old daughter changed my plans aa bit...so fuck it. I am up. What IS sleep anyway?
 
A friend of mine just checked the hl2fallout.com website and they report 28 more minutes, its like they added time to the countdown-- I cant connect the website is getting hammered, can anyone confirm this?

EDIT: Page finally loaded and the counter reads 24 more minutes, wtf?!

Ah, the refreshing taste of Pepsi, nothing beats it when staying up 3 more hours waiting to play a game that was suppose to be out hundreeds of thousand of hours ago...

It was slow as hell, but I had no problem unlocking it. I was in playing HL2 by 3:10am.
