I hope it works out great for everyone.. but I honestly really do think... one vendor will sell early, then they all will (like Doom 3 remember). I do not think Valve will be ready to open up a day or 2 early and thus the people who buy off the shelf early will have a 1, or 2 day jump on everyone who purchased through Steam. I expect to see several threads about this 2-3 days before release.
