Ever since Tron left as being moderator, things have progressively gotten worse in the gaming forum. Hey, I know that the other mods are overloaded and haven't had time to police the forums. Still, it's no excuse for some of the totally stupid threads and comments that have been made in the past few months.

To the n00bs, the Hardgawds, the 2Hardcore4U out there: Bring it up a notch. It's like friggin' GenMay at times. It's just awful at times and there are days I just stare at my screen at disgust. Stop the trolling. Stop the off-topic posts. Use the search engine to find answers. Stop the fighting.

Unless we start policing ourselves, y'all are going to be really pissed off when a new sheriff comes to town and starts cleaning up the place. It's long overdue here and I'd hate to see some people on the wrong end of the broom.

well at least its better than the video card forum, bunch of biased nvidiots rule that area and flame up a storm because they are so attached to their video card.
 
agreed - at times I feel like the only person who is not in high school when reading some threads around here.

I think Doom 3 threads belong here but then too, there are way too many just pointless random d3 threads.

But it serves no useful purpose to call them names like you have, that only generates more trouble.

You guys (and girls) should be mature enough to Police yourselves. That means if you have the urge to Flame or call someone a name, don't. Choose to avoid the problem by not creating one in the first place. If you have a poster who's being a problem then use the link in each post

i called it like it was, biased nvidiots, how else do you describe one? no one else would do anything and no ones going to do anything about their behaviour.

you make it sound like ATI doesn't have fanatical supporters in the vid card forum.
on topic, I agree, the people in this forum really need to act mature or the games forum might end up going the way of genmay

hardly. basically everyone who is obnoxious in that forum has a 6800gt and will defend it till death by not acknowledging benchmarks that don't shed the best light on the card. i mean, im getting a 6800gt myself soon, but these guys are just not right in the head

i agree, im also getting a GT, but i think my aiw 9800pro is still an awesome card. i though agree that something must be done, but these forums are still top quality compared to several other sites. i know that hardforums will pull through.

You are starting the flaming as bad as anyone, calling all of us that use nvidia "nvidiots"!!! Not all Nvidia users are like that, just like all ATI users are not "atifan boi's". So do us all a favor and be part of the solution, not part of the problem.

For the record I buy whatever is fastest at the time, my last 3 cards before this 6800GT was a 9600, a 9800np, and a 9800p flashed to XT. So I hardly could be called biased.

well, you are right, both sides are guilty of pointless personal bashing, but he isnt including everybody, there are some who are like that, it is sad that it applied to everybody.

did i say all nvidia users were nvidiots? quote me. put up or shut up as they say. i said basically everyone, not everyone.

and i didn't start the flaming, i told the uncomfortable truth and the !!!!!!s spoke up about it, thats when the flaming began

i saw the nvidiots blatant bias and bad treatment of ATI card users. i thought about it. and i called it out. nothing wrong with that.

...but I do agree there seems to be to much emotion and not enough fact going on which leads to rather heated discussions at times.

Hmm, in a thread created to help us remember to police ourselves, you start name calling and flaming Nvidia users. Granted some people LOVE their hardware, and NVidiots might seem funny to you, if someone were to call me an idiot in real life, I think i would make them eat their ATI card. Why dont you reread the original post.

You obviously didn't read more then one thread in the video card forum. There are just as many users who bash us who have purchased Nvidia cards and will defend ATi to the death. By no stretch is it just those who chose Nvidia this round who are doing the flaming and name calling...(cough)

On topic: This needed to be addressed. I also think that the lack of noticing threads like the screen shot thread so that they could be stickied has hurt the forum as well.

you obviously don't have a clue what went on then, it was about 3 threads of BS when I started voicing my disgust because of certain nvidiots telling people to give up on their ati card and buy nvidia or telling people that certain ATI cards would never be available EVER, or them simply flaming someone because they posted a link to a benchmark that didn't look favorably upon nvidia's cards. they would tag team, and it was blatanly bias and flaming bullshit.

umm what? i haven't flamed anyone in this thread, son. the nvidiots in those video card threads were the ones flaming me after i called their bullshit.

it might help to actually read what went if you want to comment on the situation

Calling it like it was ? In that case I'll call it like it is. Stop calling people names here in the forum PERIOD, In any forum on this board or I will call it like I see it too. Second I am on the list that get's mailed out everytime someone uses the link to report problems and I've seen ONE report by you. The Bullshit is over here folks and I'm about to be one of the people dropping the boom. I do not care how long you have been a member on this forum, If you choose to be insulting, Flame, call people names, crap on threads or any of the other host items that are clearly posted against the rules you will be history. If somebody Flames or attacks you and you choose to do the same in retaliation then you accept the concequences, no excuses accepted. If a user is being a problem, report it, either with the link provided OR use your PM and e-mail. Either heed this warning or don't, that choice is yours. But if you don't you accept the outcome. Like you have now seen in this thread people do not like to be insulted by being called nvidioits or whatever. It is insulting and only causes more problems. End it now or take a vacation.

The situation in video cards is being handled, one user at a time. Several people have already been banned because they felt it necessary to "speak the truth" Well like I've already said, if you feel the need and it violates the rules of this forum then you'll pardon us if we feel the need to remove you in an effort to make this a better place. You can either choose to try and help us turn it around or you can choose not to. That is your choice. If you think I'm kidding go ahead and test it. I'll be glad to prove my end of it.
