This is a bit off subject but does anyone know what the ARB render path is used for in Doom3? ARB2 is for FX's, R300+ and 6800's but the not fully functional ARB1 was mentioned and I was wondering if it would allow the use of gfx cards even worse than the gf4 mx. Thanks for any help.

Doom 3 has 4 paths> nv10, nv20, R200 and ARB2

Nope i predict nvidia will woop ati's butt in every upcomming game untill next gen.Who knows maybe nvidia's next gen will be even better and ati will get out of the video card biz. :D

Who fucking cares stop posting stupid shit like this. This is almost like "my dad can throw a rock farther then your dad". Good for your ATI card and HL2; mine will out perform yours in Doom3.

Find something constructive to do.
 
did u even bother to read it? it shows the 6800 beating the x800 xt...
 
its a leaked beta of hl2 from over a year ago, those numbers don't mean shit.

no shit...more importantly, the benchmarks that showed ATi schooling Nvidia in HL2 don't mean shit either...and that's the point...

Actually your point here is to "inform the masses" with shit data from 1 year old leaked beta of HL2.

i think the 1 year old beta wont mean anything either...but the fact still remains that HL2 isnt as graphically intense as doom3 and ati wont completely ruin nvidias shit...in fact nvidia might actually be on top but the highest chance is theyll be almost the same....
