Clickity

Wow. Just... Amazing

*drool*

Decadent.

Stresstest, you must be a flower child of the 70s; what with all the colors and all :D

well... I was born in the late 60's.. What can I say, I have a lot of modding supplies redily available to me ;) So one day I was bored and it took all of that day to light the thing up including a trip to the Shack for a project box.

So.. uh.. Now I'm a little more careful about what I do to get through days i'm bored hehe

Oh yea, props to the others in this thread that place their asses on Areon chairs! The best chair money can buy IMHO ;)

can u do a write up on how u did the whole connection with the CCFL's i would like to do something like that

OMG that kicks ass, how many ccfl's total do you have? and how many of each color?

that looks so cool, i really like the blue one :)

i would also like a write up / how to do that!

writeup eh? ugh. maybe

components:

1 x 200 watt AT PSU
1 x Radio Shack project box (Plastic)
1 x Radio Shack 4 position RCA terminal
4 x Radio Shack solder-on RCA plugs
1 x Spool red/black power cable (25ft I think)
3 x Lamps Electronics Dual 12" UV kit
3 x Lamps Electronics Dual 12" Red kit
3 x Lamps Electronics Dual 12" Green kit
3 x Lamps Electronics Dual 12" Blue kit
5 x 3/4" rocker switches
4 x LEDs

So to answer your question,

4 colors
6 tubes @ 12" for each color
24 tubes in total.

STRESSTEST#

That simply looks awesome..
Totally original :)

I like the fact that you installed so many different colours to choose between.

Thumbs up from here :)

Stresstest, youve more or less built the same sort of setup as i plan on building when i move house, eaven the same chair ive been looking at getting too ! but yours is a bit more colourfull than i was planing, gotta be a pain finiding all the light switches when you actualy want a dark room ;) NICE SETUP !

actually, if you look at the power box you'll notice the one on the left has no LED? That's the master power on/off :) Hit that and they all go off

Thanks. I think the chair is from Hon, but I am not positive. It is almost 10 years old though.

I'm not too sure about this, but isnt there risk of static shock damaging components? Maybe one day you are sitting there and playing for a while then for some reason you have to open your case and play around with the components, and zap! Just something I've always been warned against. Feel free to correct me.

yeah, there is always a risk of ESD (electro static discharge) but for now the case is staying closed, and everything seems well grouned and such. i am not too worried about it for now. and on tuesday my new chair will be here, and my desk will be cleaned up and i will be back on my 22" CRT :)

3 shots of my desk. I need to putsome formica or something on the top. It looks like crap as it is =/. The case is a Chieftec Matrix. It's unmodded, except for some cable management inside for airflow. I haven't modded it because... well, I'm not much for windows. They look good on other people's computers, but eh, I can't think of a way to make one look good on my comp.

My laptop, wireless router, hub[both wallmounted], and my console switch. PS2, PSone, DreamCast, and Nintendo 64 all plug in to that, and that plugs into the tv capture card in my comp.

wheres the shuttle monitor? or is it the white one with the other silver case

the silver case and the shuttle both use the 17" trinitron via KVM. The shuttle is my PVR machine, and the other is my server/dvd burning machine.

Here's my renewed room:
