Hey there...I was told by going to THIS SEMINAR that you would get free stuff at the end...I also heard from one guy that he got free breakfast...I think this is 4 hours long...damn...that's a long time...I might go if Bill Gates was there...it'd give me a chance to use my FPS skills...LOL...jk...anyways if you DO go then tell us how it was like and what kind of goodies you got...THANX
C'YA ?:-D

EDIT: 2 questions...What will be talked about in this seminar??? What is a seminar anyways??? What is the dress code for these type of things??? How many ppl are usually at these thing??? OK...so I lied...it's 4 questions...so sue me!!!:cool::eek:

EDIT 2: It makes you sign uyp for some Passport thing...what is that??? Do you have to put in legit info??? I fake most info for other freebie stuff but this is Microsoft we're talking about. If they find out it's fake they'll prolly want to come after you with lawsuits to make a quick buck...LOL!!!

First time I went I got a not-for-resale copy of Windows SBS 2003. Since worked leaked out about this they are no longer giving it away. SUCKS!

Now all you get is a cheap totebag with a bunch of marketing materials.

...oh.....but they did serve free pastries and bagels and beverages last time.

I blame that Kevin Rose guy on techtv. He says it once on TV then all of a sudden people were coming out of the woodwork to sign up for these seminars.

I hace registered for this on MArch 2 ... I might not go if somebody can confirm that they are not giving away any software ...

I went to one of these on the 3rd of this month and my copy of sbs 2003 was put in the mail 3 days ago so as far as I now they are still giving out software.

I went to the AMD Tech Tour a couple years ago and they would ask someone a question, and if they got it right........ throw a processor to them. That was badass. But it would have been even more badass if I would have gotten one. There were lots of companies there giving stuff away during the main seminar. Kingston, some motherboard companies.... all giving away very nice hardware. Although only a few people got stuff. However I did get an FIC "Upgrade or Die" T-Shirt. :D

i registerd and am currently waitlisted.

what is the dress code for these things? formal business or just casual business?

it seems that everyone gets to register no matter what.

I am confirmed to goto one here in atlanta tuesday. Ill let you know. They say they are giving away office 2003 pro and a bag of other stuff too. Ill let you know what i get.

i'm registered for march 9th in cerritos. hopefully they'll still be giving out free software.

Hey...for those of you that have signed up, what time does it start and end??? I hope it interferes with my Intro to Mac class...I want to see the expression on my teachers face when I tell him that I'll have to skip cause I'm going to a Microsoft seminar...LOL

ME: Hey Mr. Reddmond. I have to skip a class to go to a seminar which will give me more useful knowledge to use toward my future career. I don't think you will understand it because Miscrosoft stuff goes far beyond the kind of knowlegde required for Macintosh's. It's a Microsoft TS2 seminar.

Mr. Reddmond: :eek::mad::eek::mad::eek:

Or I could say something else...I just made up what I'd say in a few seconds...didn't really try...what would YOU say to make him pissed like that??? LOL...I wanna pull his strings a little...LOL!!!

I went to the Montgomery one yesterday. You sit through 4 hours of stuff, the guy we had was pretty entertaining. I enjoyed the Virtual PC demo the most. You fill out a survey and as you leave you give it to them and they give you a certificate to redeem for either Office Pro 2k3 or Virtual PC 2k4. You also get a little carry bag with a DVD full of white papers and the presentation.

Also, they have a deal on the partners site where if you go through the SBS training session online, install SBS on for a client and submit their sucess story you get a FREE $1500 FOR RESALE copy of SBS.

OH NO!!! I noticed this message in the email confirmation:

In order to continue to provide technology providers with software WE ARE ASKING ALL TS2 ATTENDEES TO BRING VERIFICATION TO THE EVENT THAT CONFIRMS THEIR EMPLOYMENT AS A BUSINESS OWNER, LEGITIMATE TECHNOLOGY PROVIDER,OR A PROFESSIONAL EMPLOYEED IN THE FIELD OF TECHNOLOGY. This can be in the form of a business check, business card with photo ID, employment badge, or other verifiable identification.

What does this mean??? My dad makes his own busniess cards...could I just do that and put my name on it instead??? Anyone have any problems with this??? THANX
C'YA ?:-D

I cannot belive they don't have one in las vegas... damnit... looks like I will have to drive to Bakersfield for free MS SW

OMFG BadAssSaturn!!! Your quote is what I've always said and lived by...I've always said "It's not illegal unless you get caught"...and that's a damn fact...you can go mug someone, rob a bank, steal some jewlery, and steal some cars from lame ass rich ppl...it's all perfectly legal...that is unless you get caught...

there is no difference between the time you do all that and the time (if) you get caught than if you just go out and get all that stuff the legal way...not much of a difference...unless they're on to you...then it's your own damn fault for being so clumsy...I swear...there are too many ppl out there who don't know how to do illegal stuff the safe way...LOL...don't they watch movies and Cops???:D:rolleyes::D:rolleyes:

where are these seminars and how can i get a schedule for them?

you know, there's a photo ID printer in a back room where I work...no one ever uses it or even goes in there...hmmm....

ID's for $10 anyone?;)

j/k. I'm surprised they bother though, considering it IS pretty easy to make a fake business card.

It says buisness card WITH photo ID...I guess that either means just make a regular card with your name on it and bring your drivers license OR make a card with your photo ON it...I'll make a card with my photo on it and bring my drivers license just in case

You're a couple years too late, the first tech-tour was for the launch of the XP chip (my friend won a CPU and mobo) since he had no use for it he gave it to me :D

The next year it was to promote Palomino and upcoming Opteron (no A64 at that time) there I took the Grand Prize :D Two CPUs and a bit of cash ;)

The way these events were marketed was they would give you the schedule about a week in advance, and the actual location about a day in advance.

This past year they did an online giveway/contest to win an A64, not quite as much fun.

I went to one of these in January, still waiting for the SW to show.. (Office 2k3) Attire is casual, just be decent. (Maybe not too relaxed, just dont have to be businessy. :)

Still hoping I get the darned SW...

Got VirtualPC 2004 from my school for free, as well as Server 2k3 (full) so I didn't care about SBS.

Just to let everyone know, I just got my MS office today. kinda cool. 3 cds, the one office 2k3 pro, Business contact manager, and onenote.

It was over, VPC 2004, very interesting, SBS 2003 and all its variations and office. At the end they talked about the death of windowsupdate, its being replaced by microsoft update. Kinda cool. You get to ask questions, they even rag themselves so we dont have to.

Has anyone been to these events lately, like in the last few weeks?

I've been signed up long before this "FREE STUFF" leaked out, as its good for the company I work for, and I go to all the M$ stuff.

Received a mailer today, that didn't say anything about the free stuff now (which is a bummer) just:
$75 Rebate off M$ Office SBE
Windows SBS2003 Evaluation Kit

Along with standard M$ fare for going to these events. I am going to be a tad upset if the SBS2003 is really an "Evaluation" version now, as I was banking on it being full, as I was going to go live with it...

I'm signed up for the one in South Bend, don't know if there are open slots or not yet, but would be interested to know if anyone out there has been to a recent one (no more than a month ago) and if this mailer is correct or not...

Mok
