I need a nice mid-range laptop,if you have one just PM or E-Mail me at cstafs(@)charter.net.Below are the specs I would be looking for,but if you have something close let me know.

Thanks,
Chris

P3 or AMD@1Ghz

256Mb's Ram

15GB HDD

DVD or DVD/CDRW Drive

16-32MB Dedicated Graphics

OK, I have a Desknote laptop. It has an external battery, and the cable is broken (splicable, but I'm way too lazy). The specs are as follows:

AMD athlon 1800+ (real processor)
256 mb PC2700 DDR (real ram, no laptop ram)
30 gig IBM travelstar HD
14.1 inch Screen (1024x768 native)
DVD/CDRW (8x burn)
4x USB 2.0 ports
1x Firewire/IEEE 1394 port
1x 10/100 eithernet
1x 56k modem
up to 64 MB shared video ram
Touchpad mouse

I bought it for $1300. I'll sell for $550 plus shipping.

What exactly is the differance between a Desknote and a Laptop?
Just curious.

I think it's that they use desktop parts ;)

Yeah, they do use desktop parts. Real ram, right now I have corsair XMS 3200 outta my dead desktop in here. It also uses a real athlon XP processor, up to 2200+ (or perhaps any 166 bus athlon?[edit, I meant any 133 bus athlon, thinking of my dead rig] ) I believe. The travelstar, is however one of those tiny 4200 rpm(i think) hard drives. This is an SiS chipset I believe. Its nice, but I need to replace my desktop... I've got a mini-optical mouse and a targus bag I'll throw in too. www.actonlinestore.com is where I got it:)

If you can float a little more, Best Buy has a Toshiba laptop for 650 after rebate this week...

Good deal, except that right now $100 is alot more for us .Thanks for the bump!

All PM's have been replied to.

Someones PM Box was full and I can't remember who it was, could whoever it was let me know please.

Chris

Yes I am interested, but all of a sudden after 2 days of no offers I have recieved 4 great offers that are all really good deals so if you don't mind I could use a day or so to sort through all the offers and decide then.I had a couple questions about yours, like how is the battery life with this and what kind of shape is it in?Also, when I PM'ed everyone earlier someones box was full, was that you or someone else?

Chris

Battery life is about 2-2 1/2 hours. The laptop is in good shape, only problems are a few scratches on the cover side of the screen, a missing screw where the ram cover is, and the little slider things in the back that elivate the laptop like a keyboard are gone.

Thanks!I forgot to ask,is the 1800+ in it a T-Bred or Palomino? If it's a Palomino I'll switch it with my wifes 1700+ T-Bred with a 1.5 default voltage and maybe get a little better battery life and keep the heat down a bit.I am concerned about the amount of memory,256Mb with the shared graphics is a bit low.

Chris

I belive its a Palomino, I haven't ever exposed the processor to look. Add In another 100 and Ill ship my 512 Corsair XMS 3200 that is in here now.

I wish I could afford it,but even $550+ shipping is really stretching it for me right now.I am looking at a Dell Inspiron 2650 also right now so it's a tough decision for me to make because they're both nice in different ways.Other then the few minor things you mentioned the rest of the desknote is in good shape,no dead pixels, all the rubber feet are there and no scratches anywhere else? Also do you have heatware?Mine is under cstafs.

Chris

Good shape, no dead pixels, feet are there, the "elevators" are not. I honestly don't know what heatware is, and obviously from that comment, dont have it. I'll tell you now, if your're looking for somthing to take on a plane, or lug it to class every day, this isn't exactly for you. Its more of the occasional traveler, it looks good, and when it needs to go somewhere, it can. The Dell is just the choice for that. I bought this thing to replace my 850 tbird, then I got my tbred-b and it died. This money shall be replacing it. Its fast, and plays a DVD quite well. I can also, if you would like, leave my format of XP pro on here, re-format it with XP pro, or just leave an NTFS format, any you'd like:)

Well,I actually wouldn't be toting it aound to much, maybe from place to place and that's all.Like I said my only real concern is the low memory and whether the battery will work if I spliced it back together plus the fact that I wouldn't be able to use 54g with it.Anyways,I have included a link to my Heatware evals and I am sure you'd get the idea of what they are for by looking at them. Also if I do decide to get it what form of payment would you take and would you be insulted if I asked you to ship first?I'm going to take a little more time to think about it because like I said it's a tough decision ,but I want to do it by the end of the night.

Thanks,
Chris

I'd ship first, not an issue, and honestly, if you didn't like it, you could ship it back with only what I paid in shipping as payment, I'm a flexable guy, and soon this laptop wont be used for what its worth...

Why don't you send me your e-mail so we can talk that way, send it to cstafs(@)msn.com.

Thanks,
Chris
