What an awesome game!!! Just completed it. I unlocked those other game playing modes, but I was just curious as to whether or not they are simply more difficult modes, or if the story is any different in those modes? Does anybody know if the story is different in the other modes?

[spoiler warning for next part]

Also, for those of you who've beaten it, is anyone mad about Mona Sax dying, and do you think there will be another Max Payne game?

I played the PC version for the first one and the Xbox version for the second one. I think using the mouse is easier than a joystick for this type of game.

Yeah I loved Max Payne 2 too! If you beat the game under "Dead On Arrival" you will get a alternate ending. It's very difficult, but worth the hassle.

I just beat it recently too. I think there will be another. The ending said something about continuing on or something. I am playing some of the more difficult levels now.

mona sax really died? i was confused at the ending of max payne 2 i just loved blasting guys away and watching their bodies flop around like toys

Play it on the more difficult level and you will get the alternate ending.

The game and storyline are excellent in my opinion. Only few games nowadays seem to catch my attention. A main reason is because I don' t find the storyline very good. But this game is excellent.

alternate ending on hardest level as stated....and yes a pretty fun game

..then alternate ending is that you find out that Mona Sax is really a guy named Hulio Manuel' ..kinda ruined the game for meh

But you gotta admit, that for a guy, Hulio has a pretty nice rack.

I loved this game, and I just finished it also. I also like the theme song at the end (but what do I know, I'm old!) I usually don't play a game right through, but this time I couldn't stop playing it.

That is a great song. In case you were wondering, it is by Poets of the Fall - "The Last Goodbye"

My absolute favorite part about this game was the zoom feature on the mp5 in bullet time...I just loved watching the bullets come out and whizzin through guys heads. Absolute brilliance!

i loved the levels most of all in max payne 2. the textures were perfect, and places like max's apartment complex were just so beautifully done. all gritty and broken. i applaud whoever made the levels

I don't understand how Mona Sax can be a guy. It was quite obvious that Max had sex with her on occasion. Wouldn't he have noticed somehow? I mean, usually this stuff is pretty obvious.

I loved the game. But the endings sort of suck, and aren't quite so logical.

Hahahha...Sarcasm buddy...Finish the game again or check the link I posted above.

Hmm, i'm thinking of going out and picking this one up.

Is it worth it to get the original and play it first? Is that as good as the second one?

I would definately say so. On the second one, they give you a small video of what happened in the first one. Since the second one pretty much continues from the first.

The first Max Payne pretty much had everything that the second one had. Gameplay and bullet time were pretty similar. Both are very fun games and you should definately pick it up if you plan on playing the second one. The storyline is awesome.

Switch those two, and you're set buddy.

The story was god awful, but the gameplay was good.

I think this is the last max payne game. It was short at just about 7 hours but it was some of the best 7 hours Ive ever spent playing.

OK, the offical word from Remedy is that they really don't want to make another Max Payne. However, they're going to see how sales of MP2 go, and what Rockstar has to say about it...

Thank you Max Payne2 for killing my time. :)
I thought the last level was "Dead On Arrival"? Isn't "Dead Man Walking" just a independent part to test your skills?

Ditto! That story was horrible! It also didn't fit very well with the ending of the first game. Kinda annoyed the hell out of me. He went from being a fugitive with nothing to lose, to being a cop who keeps walking into ambushes. As I was playing I kept thinking, "What a dumbass."

I thought this game was absolute perfection. Story, gameplay, graphics, and everything else.
